Good to get a winner last night, Fountain Of Time won at Newcastle, advised as a single bet when the double went down, she was 11/10 at the time,  heavily backed into 4/6 and she won nicely in the end.  I think the second and third are two fillies to follow, they will both be winning soon, Raaqyah who was third was very green, she finished her race off well, she was tenderly handled,  is very well bred and I will be waiting for her next run.

A good winner over 1 mile last time, she is penalised but I think she can win again.  She is very well bred and won eased down last time. Of rivals, Amourice has some good form on grass from 2017, she tackles a step up in trip and first run on a synthetic surface, she is a bit quirky as she wears the hood to help her a relax. Heeyraah is the main threat, she has been promising in both runs on the all weather.

Update:

Tossapenny was a disappointing 4th 2:10 Warwick, I am backing Fountain Of Time 7:45 Newcastle in a single bet, she is currently 11/10, the double has gone down, but I think this filly will take a lot of beating.

I advise putting this horse in a double with my other tip today, it will work out at over 5/2 for the double.  Tossapenny has been second three times, he is genuine, just been a shade unlucky.  He runs here having ran well at Hereford last time, he acts on the going, and can win this race.  Of rivals, Ocean Cove ran poor last time, on his previous form he is the main threat, Fawsley Spirit is talented but wears blinkers for a reason, he is not very genuine.

A good winner last time, this well bred filly can win again under her penalty.  She was well on top at Lingfield that day, and should be suited by today’s stiffer track, a change of jockey should not be seen as a negative. Of rivals, Sketching was third to my selection last time, but I don’t think will be good enough to turn the tables, Playful Spirit who was 6th in the same race could well improve a lot for that run and be more of a threat, Raaqyah is very well bred, she is the unknown and could well be  useful, her half sister was a very good racemare.

No bet advised today, I have been unable to analyse properly this morning.  I am hoping Linganno Felice 6:10 Newcastle can be in the mix today , my father in law owns him with my wife, I have looked at the race briefly and think he has a chance each way, he is around 12/1, it is a competitive race and he is a few pounds higher than his previous winning mark, but with Jamie Gormly taking 5lb off his back he has a fair chance, he  is a horse that is an ‘ in play’ bet really,  as he can be a bit over keen , if Jamie can get him relaxed and into a nice rhythm he can be competitive.

Hopefully I will having a tip tomorrow, that can get the ball rolling this week.

It was not good to see my selection Allmyown pull up injured yesterday at Carlisle, he was pulled up after jumping the second last, still had a chance of being in the shake up, but he did not jump as well yesterday as he had dine when winning, he made a bad mistake during the race, I hope his injury is not a career ending one, but it did not look good for him.

Today I am doing some sightseeing, so no bet advised for today. More tomorrow.

This horse won easy the other day at Wetherby, out again quickly before he gets a revised handicap mark, he should be very tough to beat. Alan Nichol rides again today, he has only had a few runs for Phil Kirby and looks like a horse who can progress and keep improving. Of rivals, Instant Replay is honest and just caught on the run in last time at Sedgefield, Blakerigg is carrying a low weight and could pose the main threat.

Update:

The going at Doncaster will be quite soft for the opening flat meeting of the year.  In the 2:25 I think Original Choice has a decent ew chance, but Taghdeer in the same race is returning after over well over 1 year off the track, he was a very promising horse when last seen, beating horses that went on and won in pattern company.  If he is anywhere near to his old handicap mark he could be thrown in on his mark, it’s one of the races where I will probably watch , and regards to backing one or the other of these horses, I will likely back the wrong one ! So I’m not advising a bet, but I expect both horses to be in the mix in what is a very tricky race.

A good winner last time at Market Rasen, he acts well on soft ground and has regular   Jockey Daryl Jacob riding again today.  This horse likes to get on with it, he made all last time, he can win this race, as I don’t think it is overly strong.  Of rivals, Mister Chow acts with give underfoot and could be dangerous, he travels well in his races.

I am doing some travelling over the next few days, I will hopefully have a tip tomorrow, but on Sunday I am most of the day travelling so will have little time to do my usual routine, so that day I very much doubt I will have something.

Also over the next week or 10 days, I may be a bit quiet with tips.

The turf season starts tomorrow on the flat, I always try to be very selective over the first few weeks, as it’s a whole new year, and horses can of really developed and improved, as well as some three year olds who have won and been consistent at two, don’t train on at three , so best to play small stakes, especially on three year olds, who raced often as a two year old.  In the big handicap tomorrow at Doncaster , Fire Brigade has been heavily backed to favourite, it’s a race to watch for me, I do like a horse entered tomorrow at Doncaster, but will update tomorrow with something.

I have put this horse on as one to double with my selection at Lingfield, he won last time out at Ludlow, and can win this novice hurdle under his penalty.  Sean Bowen travels all the way north for the one ride. The double is around 6/1.

Horse: Whispering Sands

Time: 4:20 Lingfield

Current Odds: 7/2

This filly ran well on debut when third, she should be better for that run and stay the extra 2f today.  She has experience of the surface and track, and fitness of a recent run.  Of rivals, Mercers Troop could well be the main threat, he is a winner and rallied well that day when headed, African Jazz has a good pedigree, but starting over 1m 4f on debut, suggests he has not been the quickest at home, he could well be a horse to watch today, Natch is ungenuine, he has ability, it depends on what frame of mind he is in, Artarmon could be dangerous, he has shown he has some talent, and should be right in the mix.
