Plenty of rain over the last few days in the UK has made a big difference. Most of the tracks today have testing conditions underfoot. At Newmarket the first race was won by Lost in Space, ridden by young Cieran Fallon, who is now second jockey for Qatar racing. So it is nice for the young rider to get off to a decent start in his new job. He galvanised his mount in the latter stages of the 7f event, to win going away from the heavily backed favourite.
At Goodwood where it is described as “Heavy”, some really good races on offer. Lullaby Moon 1.15 is having only her third race, and is now with her third trainer ! Not too sure what is going on with her owner, but if she recaptures her first run when she won, she will have a decent chance in this, ground is a concern. At Windsor, Fox Chairman has solid claims in the 3.15. He should be ok on the ground, and has some good runs of late in group races. This is a really tough race, but I can see him being a shade too strong for likely main rival Extra Elusive.
More later.
