A good winner yesterday for my subscribers. Chiricahua 4.20 Down Royal despite a massive drift in price to 4/1, the son of Camelot was a cosy winner under Colin Keane, hopefully I can keep up the consistency for the rest of the month. I have had one small bet already which obliged. Caution though, as lots of rain forecast. I do like a few in later races, so an eye on the weather, to see if we do get a lot of rain.

I may well do an update later, I am always cautious when showers fall, as it depends how much of it appears.

Really pleased to get a good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Arthurian Fable 7.00 Sandown, was advised at 7/2 yesterday morning. Trying a new trip of 1 mile 6 furlongs, the son of Sea The Stars relished being given a patient ride by Ryan Moore, staying on strongly on the climb to the line to score by over 2 lengths.

Today looks difficult at Newmarket. The 2.15 is a mile handicap for three year olds and upwards. Nugget is short priced favourite, and will probably be ridden with a bit of patience, I would expect Cognac to be ridden forward by William Buick, he could well make the running- regarding having a bet, it is a shame it only has 7 lining up. I did think the top weight Ambassadorial could have a decent chance, if he relaxes, as he can be keen and has a new jockey riding today in Tom Marquand.

At Ascot tomorrow Enable is short odds to win the King George V1 and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. I would not bet against her, as her recent race when second in the Eclipse at Sandown should have brought her forward.

Quite strong fields for a Monday. At Windsor this evening where the ground is officially good to firm, with no rain forecast. Fairy Dust has been well supported in the betting market this morning. She ran well at the track on her debut. Better drawn today than she was on her first start, where she raced wide, giving a lot of ground away. She has a good chance of winning here, with her likely main threats drawn out wide in 11 and 12.

Grand Rumore is around 5/1 for the 6.00 race. She ran well when second 16 days ago at Haydock, although that was on different ground than she faces tonight. Endured was a really promising 2nd on his only run, that was back in January. Given time by Marco Botti, he could be the one to beat if he is fit for this 1 mile maiden.

A good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Magic J 4.55 Sandown, was backed from 9/4- 7/4 before running out a ready winner under Oisin Murphy. The cheek pieces first time clearly helped the son of Scat Daddy focus better. If he is not given too much of a raise by the handicapper, he may well win again. July has been good so far with over 8 points profit, so hopefully it can keep going.

I fancy a few today. I could see Revolver winning again at Haydock 5.55. He has been given a 7lb rise since his last win, but he looked as though he had a bit in hand at Doncaster, so I would not bet against him.

13 July 2020

Good run by my advised each way selection Atalis Bay 12.25 Windsor, who was third at 14/1, so a bit of profit for my subscribers.

I thought it was a typical Monday days racing. At Kempton this evening. The 5.40 race is a difficult race to dissect. I did think the course and distance winner Delilah Park at 7/1 was a decent price each way. With top weight of 10 stone, it will be hard to win. But very good track form and usual rider on top George Wood, it is not out of the question, that she can win again.

Strong fields today at Ascot. I thought the most competitive race on the card was the 3.15. Mohaather was considered a very unlucky loser when running at the track 25 days ago. He will likely start as a warm favourite for this 1 mile event. I would rather look for a little bit of value elsewhere, so Skardu at 7/1 generally with a few betting firms, was my each way selection.

At Newmarket the 3.35 is the Darley July Cup Stakes, a Group 1 event over 6f. With a first prize of just over £140, 000 to the winner. It is very open this year. And on ground that may of dried out a little overnight, Threat was an interesting one for me. He was a really decent two year old, and dropping back to 6f should not be a major issue. At around 8/1 he would be my selection each way, as long as the ground keeps drying out.

10 July 2020

A good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Beauty Choice 6.00 Chepstow was advised at 3/1 yesterday morning. Heavily supported in the betting market into around 7/4. Making just about all the running under Kieran Shoemark, and staying on strongly to win by just under a length.

Today I thought the racing was pretty tough. With rain overnight at Newmarket, the ground will ride probably on the soft side. Dandalla 2.25 was impressive when winning at Ascot last time, she should be ok on the ground today, as it was good to soft when she won there. Very short in the betting at around 6/5, she should win, but is a little bit short for me to get involved.

So I am waiting on the weather update, and possibly will back something closer to race time, if a deluge of rain does not arrive.

8 July 2020

Good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Win O’Clock 7.15 Leicester was advised at 6/4 yesterday morning, a couple of withdrawals through the day, saw a deduction. But he did well to win, and any winner is a good price. Today’s cards have a few strongly contested races. At Newbury this evening I like Majestic Noor 8.10. The daughter of Frankel looks capable of winning off her handicap mark. Possibly most to fear from the Godolphin filly, who won on the all weather last time at Kempton, and is a well bred filly, who should be as progressive as my selection, but might not be able to concede weight today.

Pinatubo is all the rage in the betting for Sunday’s Prix Jean Prat in France. He should be ideally suited by the 7f trip, and looks the one to beat.

2 July 2020

After another month of profit during June, over 3 points – which I am pleased with, considering the first month of any new season can be testing.

An excellent start to July with Kartara advised to my subscribers at 7/2 yesterday morning, she was a very easy winner at Kempton 5.40.

I did not advise a bet today. And looking at the weather forecast, it looks as though a fair amount of rain spreading across the UK this evening and tomorrow. Hopefully it will miss the south of the country. Big news today is Mogul is the choice of Ryan Moore, and a fair amount of support has been seen since it has been confirmed on the 48 declarations.
