Last day of October, with another healthy month. Profit of over 16 points (£1635.00) not bad for under a £90 investment to subscribe. So whatever happens today a decent profit, it would be nice to get a good winner.

With the flat season coming to a close, and soft ground everywhere, jump racing really is kicking into gear. At Wetherby the mare Roskana has a decent chance of getting her season off to a good start at 2.45. She is around 2/1 so tiny bit of value for favourite backers. She will handle conditions, and the Skelton horses seem in good form. On the flat, Oisin Murphy is finishing off the season well, and will be champion again, I watched him ride a very good race at Chelmsford on Thursday, in the 2 mile race. He settled his mount, when 3 riders up the front end took each other on, what Jack Mitchell was thinking on the favourite, I have no idea, as it was an awful ride, Murphy made his race winning move inside the latter stages, and was a ready winner at the line, it was a very smart ride, it’s a shame this young rider will likely get a ban, as he tested positive for a banned substance in France, so will likely get a suspension.

Good to get a nice winner for my subscribers yesterday. Brentford Hope 2.48 Haydock was an easy winner at 9/4, despite a slight drift in price, he was never really out of third gear.

Hopefully some followers backed the two short odds favourites I advised yesterday in a double. Today has a really strong card at Ascot. Stradavarious could be one to go with in the 1.20 race, he ran well in the Prix D”Arc de Triomphe. The race was ran at a slow pace, which clearly would not play to this horses stamina. He has Dettori back on board, likes Ascot, and should win. At Stratford the 12.43 has Barbados Buck’s lining up, who could well get the win here for the in form yard of Paul Nicholls. He showed promise last season, and Bryony Frost will be hoping to get a tune out of this horse.

The ground at Uttoxeter is on the soft side today. The Skelton brothers should get off to a good start with the first two races. Third Time Lucki is very short odds to oblige in the 12.20 and Wilde About Oscar at 12.50 should get the job done. Later in the day at 1.20 Magna Moralia would of won on debut if jumping the last better, he has his likely main threat from Naizagai who is a winner and runs here after wind surgery. Heavy ground forecast at Haydock so caution if having a bet there.

9 October 2020

With soft ground at most of todays race meetings, caution on betting is advised. I think the first race at Newmarket could have some nice fillies lining up. Divine Light could be one to watch closely, just at the start for the race so i will update later.

3 October 2020

A decent end to September, resulting in a 18.34 points profit (£1834.00) for my subscribers, which I am pleased with.

Already advised a horse earlier today in the 11.00 at Angers, running out a good win, I advised at 3/1- well supported into around 2/1, so happy to get a nice start to October.

With really lots of rain around, caution on the betting is well advised. I do like a few running in Lonchamp, with Mykiss 12.30 trading around 4/1 a bit of value I think. He likes the ground or handles it, and is improving, he is worth backing. Call The Wind in the 4.00 is around evens, but clearly a solid stayer, and never runs a bad race.

So looking for horses with proven form on the soft, is a must -especially when the ground is riding slow.
