25 January 2020

Another strong day of racing from all over the country.  At Cheltenham grade 2 and 3 events over hurdles and fences.  The 3.00 has some really nice types lining up.  Trying to find the winner is very difficult.  It’s a race I will not be having a bet in, with a number of these closely rated.  House Island is the top rated on 143, and handles the ground ok, Harry Senior won well recently, and strongly suggests he is still unexposed, but a lot of these nice hurdlers are the same.  I am going racing this evening to Kempton, damp weather in the UK at the moment, hopefully I may be able to find a winner.  Thunderoad was unlucky last time at Wolverhampton, he runs at 6.00.  Stall 12 is his biggest problem, although I think he has solid each way claims.

More tomorrow.

Hopefully followers may of backed Dubai Future yesterday at Meydan.  It is really competitive  racing in all the races at the winter carnival meetings in the UAE,  as the prize money is so good.  Not too much catches my eye at the race meetings today.

With plenty of meetings tomorrow to go at.  I am going racing at Kempton so hopefully I can find a winner.

23 January 2020

Apologies for no recent blog posts.  I have been doing a lot of travel over the last week.

A good winner yesterday for my subscribers.  Felix 2.50 Lingfield was advised in the morning, fluctuating in price through the day, he returned at 9/4.  This gelding is improving, he was given a very patient ride by Hollie Doyle, who is riding with great confidence.  I actually thought in running Hollie had given the leaders a bit of leeway, but her mount really quickened at the business end, to score a shade cosily.

Todays card’s look pretty tough.  Dubai Future 2.30 Meydan could well be the pick of the Saeed Bin Suroor pair.  He won well last time at Kempton on an artificial surface, but he is a winner on grass, and is the least exposed in this very competitive 12 furlong handicap.

17 January 2020

Travelling again today, back in Guernsey now.  I went racing to Wolverhampton last week, it was a long way to get to the track, the horse I’ve got an interest in was second, beaten only about half a length, after being hampered in the latter stages of the race, unlucky not to win, but there is always another day.

I was pleased to get a good winner yesterday for my subscribers, Suedois 5.25 Meydan got the job done by a diminishing nose, advised at 6/1 in the morning, he was well supported into 9/2 at the off.  So not much more to report on today’s evening card, hopefully I can manage to find a winner tomorrow, a few entries I like the look of, weather looks wet, so cautious betting on grass, unless the selection is a mudlark.

16 January 2020

A good winner yesterday for my subscribers.  Batchelor Boy 1.55 Wolverhampton, was advised at 2/1 in the morning, he managed to get the victory, returned at 7/4.

I have been doing a bit of travelling, hence the blog posts have been quiet.  Today has some decent cards, especially in Dubai at Meydan. Finding winners is not easy at the track, very competitive and lots with chances in each race.  Dream Castle 3.40 could be cherry ripe for his 2020 debut, he is previous course winner, and would be my idea of the one to beat.

More later.

10 January 2020

Quite an early start today.  Racing at Sedgefield starts at 12.15, on ground described as soft, Good to soft in places.  Brian Hughes could get a winner on Titus Bolt in the first race.  A decent second 7 days ago at Mussleburgh, was a good effort.  He may well go one better here. At 2.00 Espoir De Loire has a solid chance, despite jumping slightly left when winning last time at Mussleburgh, he got the victory.  Todays left haded track will more ideal, and hopefully he will not give as much ground away going this way, he has not been sent on the long journey by his shrewd handler for some northern air !

Huntingdon has been abandoned.  At Wolverhampton this evening, Foresee 4.10 has a good chance of winning, really consistent form of late, and form at the track.

9 January 2020

Four races already over at Newcastle.  At 3.00 Pitchers Point will try and recoup some of his hefty selling price as a yearling, $800,000 is a lot of cash, but his trainer seems to like to send some of his nice horses to the northern track.  Enable started her career here, this race could be quite warm, as London Arch was a good second on debut, he will not go down easily. The final race at 4.05 looks a penalty kick for Clareyblue.  Meydan in Dubai has the second meeting of their winter carnival.  A few useful horses racing today.  Benbatl 4.15 should have a simple task of winning.  A good field line up in the last race over 1 Mile, a handicap.  It looks like it will go to a Godolphin trained horse, difficult to know which one of the three !

8 January 2020

A good winner yesterday for my subscribers.  I advised backing Masters Legacy on Monday evening, when he was 13/8. Heavily backed through the day, he bolted up in the 1.00 Taunton, ending up at 8/11 !  Really pleased to get value, and take a few quid off the bookies.

Todays racing is already under way.  I’m having satellite signal problems, so currently having to place a bet, to be able to watch the races ! I just backed Rathbone at 10/1 in the 1.30 Newcastle.  He did really well to finish second, after being given a very average ride by Tom Eaves.  The opposite to the winner Glen Shiel, who was given a really good ride by Hollie Doyle, who is riding really well, and has been for a long time.  She stole a race on Saturday at Lingfield, beating one I had backed there ! Maybe I need to follow her rides a bit closer.  Some good races today at Newcastle.  The 2.00 sees Astro Jack turn out again, 24 hours after winning yesterday at Southwell.  He absolutely dotted up there, and will be hard to beat today.  Union 3.30 has been well backed, at 10/11 now, I will watch him, but he is the likely winner.  I’ve got a couple tonight I am backing at Kempton, both have eased in price, so I’ve just backed them again.

7 January 2019

Just about to leave the paddock at Southwell for the 4.15.  I thought Sea Sculpture would be one with strong claims in this, although it is its first try on the surface.  At 4.45 I have backed Moonraker, he needs to get a good break, as he missed the start last time.  Over the 5f trip it is very crucial to get a good start.

I do-like a horse tomorrow, I will see what price it is in an hour or so, hopefully it will be an ok price and bit of value, I think it will be hard to beat.

More tomorrow.
