Horse Tiffin Top

In what looks an interesting maiden Tiffin Top looks to have a good chance of reversing form with the favourite Ghaiyyath, who was in front of my selection when they met recently.  I thought that Tiffin Top was given a gentle introduction that day, and at around 3/1 he is more value than the favourite.  It is not a two horse race, some really big stables have some well bred horses making their debut’s.  Midi stand’s out as the one with top class parents, and could be anything, the Stoute two year olds do not get a hard race to win on debut, and tend to improve for a run.  Although he must be well regarded, by making his debut at Newmarket.

Horse: Setting Sail

Time: 2.10 Goodwood

Current Odds: 4/5

Although short odds, I think this horse will win.  He was promising on debut over 1 mile and looked as though he will be much sharper for his run that day.  Knightly Spirit looks the likely main threat, he has a strong staying pedigree and could well appreciate the step up to 1m 2f today.  The others who have ran, especially La La Land and Mt Augustus are coming off slightly moderate runs, having shown promise on debut.

At the evening meeting at Kempton,  Special Relation 8.10 has not run for over 100 days, but was impressive when he won at Pontefract on his last start, he beat Tor that day, who has won a few times since, so the form is strong.   He has eased in price to 11/4, so I’m going to have a bit on him as he has form on an all weather surface previously.

Nothing today at the moment.  Its soft ground at Beverley, so form on that sort of ground is priority.  I may well update later, as I am interested in a horse at Chelmsford tonight.

Not having a bet at Chelmsford tonight, another day of watching.

With the ground at Leicester at the moment being heavy,  I will steer clear.  Kempton has some very difficult races to evaluate on the all weather surface today.  A lot of interesting maiden races, that have some well bred newcomers racing.  The 3.30 at the track has Teppal, who won on debut cosily, being opposed by 13 fillies, of which only two have raced before, as I am unsure of the majority of Teppal’s opponents ability, I will watch, but think she will be hard to beat, even with her 3lb penalty for her win recently.

So pretty quiet at the moment, I may update later if anything appeals !

Nothing solid today.  Invincible Army ran well to be second yesterday, he didn’t get the clearest run in the race, with the winner getting a smoother run when asked to go and win his race.  More tomorrow.

Really good winner yesterday with Tabbarak winning at Newbury, returned at 5/1.  Saturday is always the toughest day of the week I feel.

Horse: Invincible Army

Time 2.50 Newbury

Current Odds: 11/4

In what is a competitive Group 2 for juveniles, Invincible Army has been running very well in all his starts on All weather and turf,  he won well last time at Kempton (AW).   He beat a horse that was unbeaten on the track that day.  Back on grass today should not pose any problems, he seems to thrive on his racing, and is very honest.   Lansky ran well last time over 7f, the drop back to 6f today may not be an advantage, as he needed every yard of 6f when winning his maiden.  Enjazaat won ok last time, he was behind my selection when they met before and has a bit to find, James Garfield also decent form  and is consistent.

Horse: Tabbarak

Time: 4.00 Newbury

Current Odds: 6/1 EW

This horse has been running well all year.  He is very genuine and in a competitive race trading around 6/1 he is a decent each way price, he has good form in listed and group races, and likes 7f.  A few improving three year olds in against him, who have to prove themselves in a step up in grade or over 7f.  Second Thought has probably the best form of the three year olds over 6f, his second to Harry Angel over that trip was a good run, he could appreciate the extra furlong today, and is possibly the one to beat.

Nothing solid today.  I was looking at one at Ayr but that has been abandoned.

There is some decent races today, lot of competitive  two year old maidens at Sandown and Yarmouth, both will throw up horses to follow. At Sandown in the 2.35,  a conditions race, Il Primo Sole is short odds at 4/6, but I think the way he won last time, he will win again.  He looked a very useful prospect that day, just trying to find one to put him in a double with !!

Horse: Kyllachy Dragon

Time: 1.20 Redcar

Current Odds: 3/1

Ran well when second last time at Beverley.  He has a couple of dangers, possibly in the unraced Hedonism, who comes from a big stable and is quite well bred.  Of those that have raced, Biddy Brady could be one who is a threat, she has been placed on her last two starts and looks genuine.  I just think that Kyllachy Dragon could be the type to keep progressing and will be hard to beat, his stable are in good from and he should handle the ground ok.
