Good winner yesterday with Dynamic backed at 9/2, today I have gone for  another each way bet today,  as quite decent odds on offer.

This filly ran a promising race on debut (grass), it was at Newmarket with two very useful fillies finishing first and second that day,  she was quite low in the betting that day.  She is bred to go on the all weather surface judging her pedigree, so I think will be ok on todays surface.  A lot of her rivals are inexperienced, so with the race she has had, it will help my selection.  Her slight negative is stall 10, but the favourite Bath And Tennis is drawn 13, so it will be harder for her, she won ok last time at Kempton but will need to step up a fair bit to defy a penalty against some potentially nice fillies.

Few showers around, although the ground at Newmarket is described as good at the moment.

I backed this filly last time when she ran a fair race, she is lightly raced so is clearly a bit delicate to train.  I just thought she is worth a bet EW, the race is quite open.  I like the jockey and think there is a bit more to come from this filly.  Her rivals are pretty closely matched, Clearly is talented and was in front of Dynamic the last time they met, she has not looked to be totally genuine to me, with blinkers added today she could  well be dangerous.  I am unconvinced Song Maker has an ideal trip, she won at Chester (10f), and has ran well on the all weather since over shorter trip’s.  Chester is the complete opposite from Newmarket as lots of turns seemed to suit her when she won.

Horse: Big Kitten

Time: 2.40 Newcasltle

Current Odds: 7/4

This horse was very green on debut at Beverley recently when beaten a neck.  The horse that was third at Beverley won recently at York, so the race has some substance to it.  He should be fine on the switch to Tapeta today, judging by his pedigree.  His main rival I think is Moqarrar, who has ran well on his two starts, his last run was on the All weather at Kempton, he was beaten that day by a useful horse, so no disgrace in being second that day, hopefully my selection will be too strong in the finish today.   Jockey Joe Fanning is a regular rider at Newcastle and knows the track well, the straight course needs good judgement from the saddle, as your horse has to stay the trip well.

Today is quite difficult, at this time of year I try and edge more towards the National Hunt racing, horses off the flat can lose their form, and need a rest.  Its easy to back something,  that is past its best form.

It was good to see good racing yesterday at Ascot, Cracksman was an impressive winner of the Champion Stakes.  He will be a strong force next year at middle distance races.

With the ground at Ascot turning soft, its betting with that firmly in mind.  A lot of the big races are contested by horses that ran at the ‘Arc’ meeting two weeks ago, and I think quite a few will run today below form, so I am backing one that has had a light season so far.

This horse bolted in last time, it was a lot easier race but he won like a progressive horse.  The ground will be no concern, he should stay the trip and his jockey won on him last time at Chester, he ticks a lot of boxes and is a bit of value.  I am backing him each way as    he has a few pounds to find with some of his rivals.  Order Of St George is the favourite, and if he runs to his best will be very tough to beat, he ran well in the ‘Arc’ and is top rated in the race, he has a had a few tough races this  season and I am thinking (and hoping) he may be a bit below peak, although he is trained by a genius !

Nothing solid today as yet.  The weather is a bit of a concern, it can be difficult to get a consistent idea on going conditions at this time of year, lots of showers could be around today. I will try and update later with a possible bet !

A good winner last night with Yellowhammer winning at Kempton returned at 5/2 so was a drifter in the betting, but got up on the line to win under Kieron Shoemark, he is riding well this jockey, it was his final leg of a treble yesterday.

This former french recruit won so well last week at Exeter, that I think he will be difficult to beat again.  He escapes a penalty as it was a conditional jockeys race he won, so races off the same handicap mark, slight change of headgear from last week with cheekpieces fitted today.  I just think a lot of his rivals are not in the best of form, so my selection can follow up again.

In an all fillies handicap, I think this filly who has been lightly raced can win again.  She did well to win at Newmarket on her only start in 2017 on turf.  She comes here fresh and will hopefully take another step forward on the all weather surface, the horse that was third to her at Newmarket  Ower Fly was a 4l winner recently, so the win Yellowhammer had was an ok race.  She is well drawn and has a good jockey riding who knows her well.
