5 May 2018

I have just watched the boxing, Haye vs Bellew 2, stopped in round 5, with Tony Bellew again too strong and quick for his opponent.

I am putting a horse on tonight for tomorrow.  The forecast is for a dry day, so going changes should be no issue.

Sundays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Kitaabaat

Time: 5:20 Newmarket

Current Odds: 9/2 EW

I am backing this horse each way.  He has been given a break since winning at Sandown at two.  He won over 8f, I don’t see 10f tomorrow being an issue, he should be fine on the good ground, if we have a bit of rain it will not pose a problem, his trainers horses are running ok, I think he has a solid EW chance.

Of rivals, Bow Street has decent form, his stables horses are running well, he is a danger. He’s Amazing is another that could run well at decent odds.

I will update tomorrow, probably around 2pm.  I enjoyed the races today, some really nice horses lined up in the big race, with Saxon Warrior coming out on top, he looks a decent horse as he looked well in the parade ring, but looked like a horse that can only get stronger as the year progresses.

Update: 11.35am

No solid tip today.  I am interested in Sam Gold in the last race at Newmarket, I have decided to wait and have a look at him in the paddock before possibly backing him, it is a tight race, Symbolisation is fancied in it, I think it is between the two.  In the big race (2000 Guineas) Elarqam is the one I think could be value, but it’s wide open. He has had a gallop on the track, and EW he could be worth an interest. But nothing solid, typical Saturday,  very difficult to find a stand out bet, it is so competitive.

5 May 2018

I am going racing today to Newmarket.  The first classic the 2000 guineas looks quite open this year.  It would be nice to see Masar win for Charlie Appleby, his horses are running well and he won his trial well by 9l, he faces some strong opposition, Gustav Klimt, Saxon Warrior from Aiden Obrian, and Elarqam is interesting, his mother won the 1000 guineas and he is the son of the great Frankel who won the 2000 not that long ago, the race is open and interest betting only !

I will do an update around 12pm, as I am going up Newmarket Heath to watch some of the horses training and see a few faces I have not seen for a while, weather looks good ! More later.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Mosalim

Time: 3.40 Mussleburgh

Current Odds: 6/4

A good winner on the all weather last time.  I think this horse could be a useful progressive type, he has ran well on grass at two, has a good draw and his trainers horses are flying. A lot of positives, plus I like his jockey Ben Curtis. The horse who was third when he won, (Mount Kinabulu) won off 79 recently on grass, it was almost 4l behind Mosalim at Chelmsford.

Of rivals, Dubai Acclaim has been running well, I have tipped this horse when he won before, he is dangerous if converting his all weather form to grass, Tribal Warrior is another making his turf debut, he is up 5lb for his latest win, he is bred to act on turf, I just think Mosalim could be well in off 83.

3 May 2018

Update: 5:15pm

A late update, Playfull Spirt was third, she never really looked happy on the surface to me, or she is a bit of a madam !

Two horses I was interested in at Chelmsford have both been backed, and are very short, so I am going to watch them.  Reveleon in the handicap is odds on, he will very likely win but his value has gone, this horse really wants further than todays 10f, plus Chelmsford is a sharp track,  so I will let him run at his price.

Few of interest tomorrow, hopefully the rain stays away.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Playfull Spirit

Time: 4:30 Lingfield

Current Odds: 13/8

A first run in a handicap and a drop in trip today for this speedy filly should be of benifit.  She has been second over 1 mile, and ran well over 7f on her latest run, she should travel well over today’s 6f and be more than good enough to win this.  Of rivals, Belated Breath is the main threat, she did well to win last time, finishing her race off well that day, she is certainly dangerous,  as she is improving.

I will update later as a couple of horses are of interest at today’s evening meeting.  For anyone who plays the very short odds Victory Wave 3:20 Southwell has just to go down and come back I think.  But 4/11 is not an attractive bet, even though she looks unstoppable!

2 May 2018

Update: 5.45pm

Good run from Mythical Queen 5.20 Wolverhampton, she dead heated for second, (demoted to third)backed each way and returned at 6/1,  a bit of profit, she was only beaten 1/2 length by the winner, she hung badly right in the straight giving away a lot of ground, slightly impeding the other horse that was joint second.  I am sure she would of won if keeping straight, but has injured herself in the race,  it has been reported, very unlucky not to win, but the main concern is she is ok.

2 May 2018

Just missed out yesterday, Raven Banner was second beaten a neck, she would probably of won with two or three strides more, she was galvanised by De Sousa inside the last furlong, a really good effort from horse and rider.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Mythical Queen

Time : 5:20 Wolverhampton

Current Odds: 11/2 ew

I am backing this filly ew, I think she is overpriced in the betting.  She was a good fourth on debut at Newmarket, she travelled well that day, and looked the winner as she was produced inside the 2f marker, she tired late on, but she was not given a hard race, she will improve for that run, I don’t see the synthetic track being a problem and she has solid each way claims.

Of rivals, Asoof was about a length in front last time, she is 6/4 , I think she is under priced considering how close they were together last time.  Revalue and Homeopathic are both winners, they have 7lb penalties for those wins, both are from good yards, I expect them to be in the mix.  I am tempted to lay the favourite, as  she has three serious threats.

1 May 2018

Good to see Mootasadir win yesterday at Wolverhampton , he drifted to 4/5 in the end, I actually backed him again when he drifted near the off, I really thought he was a good thing. He did well to win, as the race was not run to suit him, his rider got hemmed in on the inside, but managed to get out in time to catch the leader inside the final furlong, he won a shade cosy at the line.  He looks like a horse to follow, I think he could be quite useful.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Raven Banner

Time: 3:15 Yarmouth

Current Odds: 9/4

This mare ran well on the all weather last time, she acts well on grass and has won on ground with some give in it. She will be fine over today’s trip and has strong claims of winning this open handicap.  She has Sylvester De Souza riding, and her trainers horses have been running well. Of rivals, Calm Charm showed a bit of ability last year, off todays low rating she could be the biggest threat if primed for her first run of the season, her stables horses are best watched in the betting, as they are quite shrewd,  when the money is down you need to pay attention !  Insomniac has shown very little in three runs on the all weather, he is another to consider in his first try in a handicap on turf.

30 April 2018

Update: 3,55pm

Pepys (Wolverhampton 2.40) was just out of the money , he was 4th after having every chance, still as it was a race paying on 4 places, the each way bet was ok, tiny loss, he was just not good enough.   And the double has gone down, but the ride Tamkeen got by Jim Crowley was a shocker ! He went flat to the boards with PJ Mcdonald who was on Valdolobo, both horses understandably folded, Tamkeen was the first to stop just inside the 2f marker, Valdolobo did really well to be third in the end.  What Jim Crowley and P J Mcdonald were thinking is a mystery, complete brain dead rides by both of them.

I have backed Mootasadir in a single bet, I just think he will be very hard to beat, he is short odds but I think he will win.
