Some good racing yesterday, York had some really good races, Cracksman was impressive as was Ulysses in winning the Juddmonte International.  I didn’t get involved in the end, today has some good races that look difficult to try and find a winner !

Competitive race but this filly won well at Good wood recently,  today is a step up in class, but this well bred filly should improve and has a great each way chance, with a bit of luck she can win from some decent fillies. At 9/2 it makes sense to go each way.

Some really good racing today at York.  The Group 1 Juddmonte Intrnational Stakes 3:35 looks like it will be a great race, who wins, I would not like to say, Barney Roy has been improving all year, and if I was having a bet, he would be the one I would favour, but it’s too close to call.  Churchill had looked very special until his below par  run at Royal Ascot, when only 4th to Barney Roy, it is one to watch and enjoy. I’m hoping to watch as I am currently on holiday in Bratislava.

I will watch the 5.10 Bath and may back Quay Point each way in play, if it gets chance to make the running, ridden far too aggressively last time, and not allowed to dictate matters, faded in the closing stages.  I still think this horse is quite well handicapped, but is an in running bet for me, as 11/1 is ok. But needs to get the lead!

The horse I liked yesterday No I’m Easy at Thirsk won by a neck, he was supported in the betting from 2/1 to around 13/8.  The favourite of Godolphin’s ran green, as I thought he might, he may be worth a look next time.

Being a recent winner on such a tricky track like Brighton can give this horse a slight edge, I think he can defy his penalty for that win, and win again today.  As long as no more rain falls, as it was good to firm when he won last time.

Some good racing to come this week, starting tomorrow at York, with some really competitive races with big prize money at stake.

I am going to back No I’m Easy 2:15 Thirsk, as he ran a good race when second at Ascot to a good animal.  He could well beat the likely favourite Al Mustasher, who is unraced and has some big race entries, but the Bin Suroor two year olds usually improve a lot for a run, so could well get turned over at short odds.

This is good chance for a Group 1 win with this lightly raced mare.  She ran a good race at Goodwood behind Winter last time, racing a little fresh and keen, she weakened in the latter stages to be beaten under 4L, she can improve from that and will be a lot fitter today, she will be tough to beat.

Really good winner yesterday, Dubawi Fifty winning at Nottingham at 5/1 returned.  Given a good ride by Graham Lee, he got in front close home to win by a neck.

Time: 2.05 Ripon

Current Odds: 9/4

With useful apprentice Clifford Lee able to use his 3lb allowance, and the step up to a mile also likely to suit Guvenors Choice today.  and Using his experience of a couple of encouraging starts, I believe this will be enough today for this horse to win.

Today there is some decent racing, lots of interesting races.  At Newmarket in the 5:20 two year old maiden, there are some choice bred colts, Ghostwatch was 2.1 million as a yearling, but looks as though he is not as well fancied as stablemate Kind Act, who judging by the betting is the more forward, a race to watch closely.

Current Odds: 7/1

This horse won well last time, the horse he beat won well recently, he likes the trip and although this is a competitive race, I think each way he has a good chance of winning.  Graham Lee rides, he knows this horse well and is riding well at the moment.

Another good winner yesterday, Nathalie was backed heavily from 5/6 to 1/2 before winning cosily at Thirsk.

Wensley won well last time out at Pontefract, he has a 7lb penalty for that win, but I think this horse can win again.  The stiff track will suit I think, although this horse has plenty of pace, Kyllachy Dragon has been backed into second favourite, and could be the main threat, although there are a couple of good stables with horses that have not seen a racecourse yet, they will have to be well tuned and useful to beat Wensley, who I think will have too many guns for his rivals.

Although short odds, this filly sets quite a decent standard for what looks an average maiden.  She ran well last time, to a filly rated 77, so I think today she will be too good for her rivals, Saniyaat will probably improve for the extra 2f today, she looks the main rival, but the rest who have raced are nothing special on known form.
