Nothing solid today. I was looking at one at Ayr but that has been abandoned.

There is some decent races today, lot of competitive two year old maidens at Sandown and Yarmouth, both will throw up horses to follow. At Sandown in the 2.35, a conditions race, Il Primo Sole is short odds at 4/6, but I think the way he won last time, he will win again. He looked a very useful prospect that day, just trying to find one to put him in a double with !!
Todays Free tip is as follows:
Horse: Kyllachy Dragon
Time: 1.20 Redcar
Current Odds: 3/1
Ran well when second last time at Beverley. He has a couple of dangers, possibly in the unraced Hedonism, who comes from a big stable and is quite well bred. Of those that have raced, Biddy Brady could be one who is a threat, she has been placed on her last two starts and looks genuine. I just think that Kyllachy Dragon could be the type to keep progressing and will be hard to beat, his stable are in good from and he should handle the ground ok.
A nice winner yesterday at Bath. Roundhay Park winning at 5/2 returned, he won with a bit in hand and is improving with racing.
Today is quite difficult. Heavy ground Carlisle, so it will be a slog there. I do like Wait for Me 3.00 Worcester, but its his first run over fences, so at 10/11 I think i will watch rather than get too involved, although he was about 12b better than any of his rivals over hurdles and looks the one to beat.
Hit the crossbar with Crystal Ocean yesterday in the big race at Doncaster, he ran a good race to be second, returned at 5/1, so each way was ok. It is always difficult to oppose the O’Brian horses in major races, his horse Capri was a worthy winner.
Todays free tip is as follows:
Horse: Roundhay Park
Time: 4.15 Bath
Current Odds: 3/1
This horse has been running well, winning and finishing a close third last time. He travels a long distance to race at Bath today, and his shrewd trainer obviously thinks this is a good chance of a winner. The likely favourite Big Time Maybe is not strait forward, he has been gelded mid season, and wears headgear, he has ability but I’m not sure he is in love with racing. The one I think is Roundhay Park’s main threat is Zain Smarts, she is a winner at the track and has a good claimer on top in David Egan, hopefully she can set the race up for my selection who normally finishes his races strongly.
Saturday is always the hardest to find a winner or two, simply too many meetings. A bit of rain around, so look for horses that can handle ground with ease in it.
Todays Free tip is as follows:
Horse: Spirit Of Valour
Time: 2.25 Doncaster
Current Odds: 15/2 (ew)
As this race has 8 runners it is sensible to back my selection each way. He has a penalty for a win in a Group 2 , having shown form on ground with ease as well as on the fast side. Had to be considered a bit unlucky when hampered last time behind Breton Rock, so has to turn around a bit of ground today, on him. In what I think is an open Group 2 race, hopefully Spirit Of Valour can have a bit of luck today in a smaller field. I think Home of The Brave will set out to make all the running, he is consistent and will take beating, I just think at 15/2 my selection is a bit of value.
I did back Crystal Ocean a few weeks ago at 7/1 each way for the St Leger 3.35 Doncaster. I think he has been trained all year for this race, he missed some big entries in the summer and comes here lightly raced, I just hope not too much rain falls !
He is still 9/2 with Betfair each way (first four) that looks still reasonable to me. It is a very open Classic this year and lots with chances, as the 1m 6f will be a test of stamina, especially if more rain falls.
Nothing from Salisbury. Delighted with The Grape Escape winning at Sandown today, backed in to 6/1, he only won a head but got hemmed in, and would of been unlucky if he did not get up, more tomorrow.
Nice winner yesterday with Ashwaas winning by 8l ! He didn’t beat much but was impressive.
Todays Free tip is as follows:
Horse: The Grape Escape (EW)
Time; 3.10 Sandown
Current Odds: 9/1
I think this horse has good EW claims. He is a winner at the track as a two year old. Although he has not ran for about 3 months, he had a setback after running at the Royal Ascot meeting. It is a competitive handicap today, the favourite Sharja Bridge won easy last time, but I don’t think it was a strong maiden, and his 95 rating is quite high off that win, he is improving but is short odds for his handicap debut. My selection has some good form prior to his blip at Ascot, and Sean Levey rides, which suggests he has more on offer than Almoreb from the Hannon yard, as Levey is one of the yard’s choice jockeys.
Good racing at Doncaster again today. It is hard to find winners there, an interesting maiden later in the card at 4.05, Ghaiyyath is highly regarded, he was 1.1 million as a yearling, he takes on 10 rivals including Military Law who was 900,000 himself ! The former could be more primed for his debut, and the Godolphin horses of Charlie Appleby, could make a winning debut.
Hopefully I may put an update on later, as a horse running tonight at Salisbury is of interest.
Todays free tip is as follows:
Horse: Ashwaas
Time: 1.40 Chepstow
Current Odds: 11/8
This looks an average maiden, Ashwaas ran well on debut. He has probably most to fear from Holiday Girl, who has been running ok, but over varied distances. With a couple of non runners, reducing the field to 10, it looks a decent chance for my selection to get off the mark on his second start.
There is some decent races at Doncaster. Difficult to find a winner, hopefully no more rain will fall at the track to make it decent for the big race on Saturday the St Leger.
Lot of rain around the UK. Carlisle ground is heavy, at the moment it is going ahead after an 8am inspection.
It will be good to see the Legends race today at Doncaster. A lot of very good former jockeys taking part from the flat and jumping. George Duffield is 70 ! He will be hoping he can get Soldier Blue to win, this ex Godolphin horse could be quite well treated on a 69 rating, as the race is framed for horses rated up to 70.
At Kempton Symbol 7.15, is a very short price at 4/6, bit short, but I’m trying to find one to go with her as I think she is a penalty kick. She was 4th in a very good maiden on her debut, her only danger is Romina, the rest that have ran are poor.
