Horse: Brave Eagle

Time: 1.25 Exeter

Current Odds: 11/4

Shade of value in price tempts me to back this horse.  It is a race where the majority of runners are having the first run of the season, Brave Eagle is lightly raced and won his two starts last season, so with the stable in form and Ned Curtis claiming 5lb he has a good chance of winning.  Of rivals Speredek has a good claimer on and knows how to win.  Persian Delight won on his last run and is from a powerful stable.

No tip today.  Looks difficult today, few interesting races Tommy Silver 1.00 Worcester is having his first run over fences, he has best form over hurdles, interesting to see how he jumps over the bigger obstacles today.

Nothing solid today, so no tip.

One race worth watching is the 2.55 Kempton, it has some decent types in it.  Bags Groove will possibly come out on top, but I know Le Breuill is highly regarded and is a horse that could have a good season this winter, his trainer thinks he is potentially very smart.

As the turf season has finished until 2018, over the next number of months I will try to focus on the jump racing for possible bets, although I do like the all weather cards, especially Kempton, as some good horses tend to start off there.

Time: 1.10 Navan

Current Odds: 15/8

Won his maiden hurdle well, and can build on that, and this former useful flat horse can win today. Morgan is the main threat I think, he has consistently ran well  this season and will be no push over for my selection.

Some decent racing today.  I managed to get a winner on the update with Welsby winning, backed at 6/4 so it was good result.  It was good to see Unowhatimeanharry win well at Aintree, he is worth following over the winter in top races.

Big meeting at Doncaster today with the final big handicap of the year on the flat at 3.15.

Horse: Towerlands Park

Time: 3.15 Doncaster

Current Odds: 9/1 EW

This lightly raced horse comes here off a good third last time, that was his first run for a long time so should improve off it. He proved that day that he acts with give underfoot, and the step up in trip to 1m 4f should not pose a problem as he won over 1m 3f before. He has good each way claims and has a very good jockey riding in David Probert.  Lots of rivals with chances, Royal Line has been running well when winning twice, he for me was a bit disappointing last time when third at Newbury.  Saunter ran well at Newmarket recently and is what I think as right in there with a chance.

Horse: If The Cap Fit’s

Time: 12.40 Wincanton

Current Odds: 4/6

Although skinny odds, I do think this horse is a good thing to win.  He won well last time and can follow up again under his penalty.

Update:

Welsby is well fancied in 4:00 Aintree, I’m backing it at around 6/4. Strong stable and always good in bumper races.

Pleased to get back on track with a winner last night put on the update message,  with Ifubelieveindreams obliging at 13/8 in the last at Chelmsford.

Today is quite difficult, nothing as yet to put on.  The two year old race I mentioned yesterday at Chelmsford, the 6:45 won by Photographer, who beat Silverbook, these two are horses to follow as they will both prove useful I think.   The winner got first run on the second , although probably he was  the best horse in the race.

Possibe that I could put an update message on later today, keep a look if you follow.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Middle Kingdom

Time: 6.45 Chelmsford

Current Odds: 11/8

This horse has been off the track since April, but is unbeaten in two starts so far.  He was green and looked like he would be a nice horse going forward when winning at Newmarket in April, he races off 94 today, so in what looks like a competitive race, he will have to be fit to win today.  Petite Jack was a winner last time at Chelmsford, he has gone up 4lb, and is a threat today, but hopefully my selection can get a nice position and come home strong.

Some nice looking two year old races at Chelmsford.  Silverbook is highly regarded and has been well backed in the 6:45.  It looks a potentially good race as the raced horse Making Miracles has been running well and has a decent chance, Photographer is interesting as well, he has a choice pedigree, and looks as though he could be in the mix in what is a small field of only 6 starters.

Ifubelieveindreams   8.15 Chelmsford is around 13/8 , think it will be very hard to beat, I’m backing hoping to break a run of misses lately !

Today’s free tip is as follows:

Horse: Alqamar

Time: 6:40 Kempton

Current Odds: 11/10

A shade short in price, but a lot of rivals are out of form so I think my selection can win on his debut on a synthetic surface.  Little bit below par last time, but a very good run before when second, repeat of that form and he can win this.  3 year olds have a good record in this race.  Of rivals it is difficult to say what has been running well of late Rydan has some fair form, although not totally genuine,   Isaac Bell won a maiden last time at Kempton, but I don’t think that will be good enough to win this.

I thought the ride my selection got tonight by Jim Crowley was a shocker ! He sat way too far back, and then when making headway, decided to go into traffic, rather than make his run on the outer in the straight.  Sauchiehall Street did well to be a never nearer 4th.  I know Crowley was champion jockey last year, but has been poor on some rides this year, namely the horse he rode last night for the Queen at Kempton, Seniority who needs held up, was let go down the back straight about 1 mile from home, and tired in the last furlong to be third.
