Horse: Battle of Ideas

Time: 12.40  Plumpton

Current Odds: 5/1 EW

Obviously the favourite Piton Pete is the one to beat in this maiden hurdle, he will be hard to overcome on his good run when second last time, but Battle Of Ideas ran well when third last time at Exeter, he was beaten by a decent horse who won that day, the second who was only 2l in front of Battle Of Ideas won off 114 on its next run, so if my selection can run to that sort of rating today,  he has solid each way claims, he also has the benefit of a recent run.  Puppet Warrior is another that has good bumper form and is in the mix with a chance, its his first run for 249 days so can be expected to improve for it.

I will hopefully put a tip up later today, probably around 1.30pm if ground conditions are ok.

Not having a bet today, sorry for late update as I was at a football match.

Both horses backed yesterday each way, both placed so an ok day.

Horse: Marten

Time: 2.40 Bangor

Current Odds: 11/8

This horse won very easily last time at Southwell, beating the odds on favourite that day. He carries a penalty today for that win, but I do not think that will stop him winning again.  El Presente is probably the main threat, as he ran well last time and is lightly raced and is still on the upgrade.

Lots of good racing today around the country, in the Fighting Fifth hurdle the hot favourite Buveur D’Air looks as though he only has to turn up to win, hopefully he can win his first prep race of the new season with the Cheltenham Festival in March the main target.

Another good day yesterday with Strange Society (advised at 13/8) winning a shade cosy last night at Newcastle, if you backed this horse at 13/8 there was a 20p deduction in the £1.  It was a good end to the month, so hopefully I can keep up the form and find some winners during December, to help pay for Xmas !

Horse: O O Seven

Time: 2.25 Newbury

Current Odds: 6/1 EW

Although carrying top weight, my selection runs well fresh, he has been off the track for 238 days, and is with a stable in form.  He has been very consistent on the track, only once out of the first four on his last six runs.  It is a strongly contested race today, as you would expect with good prize money on offer, I just think each way this horse will be right in the mix at the finish.  Ridgeway Flyer races off bottom weight and is improving, he is a threat, as is Jameson who is also a genuine horse, that never runs a bad race.

Horse: Dandy Dan

Time: 12.00 Doncaster

Current Odds: 4/1 Ew

This horse has put in a really good run last time, he was useful in his bumper win, and his first hurdle run was also a win, I am backing each way as the favourite Eniscoffey Oscar is a big threat but at 5/4 I think is a bit narrow.   Dandy Dan could improve again today, he won well last time and his stable are running well currently.  Talkischeap is respected but will find a double penalty hard to overcome.

Good day yesterday with both my tips winning.  Bon Papa drifted to 5/2, but was an easy winner and Court Liability managed to win over what was probably a trip that was a bit sharp for him, he has really good attitude, and battled gamely to win when looking only second best jumping the last !

Hopefully I can end November on a winner, another profitable month, Almost up to £4000 profit since starting in May if you have bet to a £100 stake, if I recommend each way it is £50 EW.

Horse: Strange Society

Time: 7:15 Newcastle

Current Odds: 13/8

This horse ran a good debut run at Chelmsford recently, too raw and inexperienced that day, he did well to finish third.  With improvement for that race, he can win today.  Ambient and Cirrus Minor look main rivals, both have ran their best race on debut, but slightly below par efforts on their next start.

Managed to find a winner yesterday, Tallow winning at Southwell.  She was backed in from evens to odds on.

Horse: Court Liability

I like this horse, I backed him when he won last time,  and think he can win again today.  Of his rivals Stage Summit tries hurdles today, after winning a bumper, he will be well schooled,  and comes from a good stable.  Rasasee is another that has a chance on current form.

Horse: Bon Papa

Time: 1.50 Punchestown

Current Odds: 2/1

Although slight drift in the betting, this is a potentially useful chaser, he is the choice of Barry Geraghty who is retained by the owner, who has the main danger Stand Up And Fight in the race as well.  Bon Papa is a big horse, who has looked as though time and chasing would bring out the best in him.  I think he has a good chance of winning today.

Stand Up And Fight has good hurdle form and is a threat on his chasing debut.

Horse: Lucarno Dancer

Time: 1.50 Sedgefield

Current Odds: 13/2 ew

In quite an open looking race, my selection won well recently, although she is penalised for that win, the opponents today are of similar ability as when winning at Hexham.  Todays jockey Calum Bewley rides again and knows this mare well, solid claims each way as I see it.  Of her opponents, probably top weight Handy Hollow,  who has travelled a long way today to try and win his first race,  has to be in the mix with a chance.  The rest are all closely matched on bare form shown so far.

Horse: Tallow

Time: 1.40 Southwell

Current Odds: Evens

In what looks a novice race that won’t be too hard to win, Tallow is unproven on Fibresand, but has won on slow ground on grass, you are never completely sure until they have ran on it, but this filly has highly likely trained on the fibresand gallop in Newmarket.  Her rivals that have ran, don’t look anything special, Consultant could be the biggest threat. Tallow can win this.

Today is difficult. Nothing stands out as a solid bet, so not having a bet today.

Today I have no tip.  It was a really good achievement by Josephine Gordon last night  , she got to 100 winners for the season at Wolverhampton.  She is a good jockey and is getting better, she should be very proud of her achievement.

Yesterdays fancy only got as far as the second fence before parting company with his rider, hopefully better today, on what I believe is always the hardest day to find winners with so much racing!

Horse: Palmers Hill

Time: 12.20 Ascot

Current odds: 5/2

This looks a good hurdle, with some promising horses. My selection won well last time and looks progressive.  Perfect Harmony has a good profile, and could be dangerous, Take to Heart owned by the Queen has also done very little wrong so far and is respected.

Update:  4:50

I was hoping to have something this evening at Wolverhampton, the horse I was interested in runs in the 5:45, but it’s a tricky race to evaluate, Guvenors Choice will be right in the mix , the unraced horse of John Gosden is poorly drawn and has not been supported in the betting , it looks as though he may well need the experience,  so I’m watching with interest only.
