5 June 2018

I have been reading in the Racing Post that Andrew Thornton is retiring tomorrow.  He has been riding for a long time, I rode against him, so that’s how long he has been  a jockey !

I really hope he has a good day tomorrow, and has safe rides on his mounts, I believe he has 3 or 4.  At 46 he is the eldest jump jockey currently riding, that is a feat in its self. He must of had nerves of steel.

A lot of competitive races today, if I was having a bet at Newcastle this evening, I would probably have a small EW on What’s The Story in the 8:15.  It’s a very open race, any one of 3 or 4 could win it.

More tomorrow.

Nice to get another winner yesterday for my subscribers, Fifty Shades was advised at  11/10, he was heavily backed into 10/11. His rider dropped his whip after jumping the last hurdle, but managed to galvanise him to victory. Fakenham was always a lucky track when I was a jockey.  I remember when my brother was training he set a decent horse we had called Reggae Beat up for a couple of good wins at the track, on both occasions all I had to do was steer in the right direction ! He bolted up on both occasions, Ian knew how to train a horse.

No stand out’s today yet.  I may put a free tip on later, just keeping an eye on the weather.

3 June 2018

Nice to get a winner for my new information and advisory service yesterday.  White Chocolate was advised at 11/8,  and backed into 6/5.  She was given a confident ride by Jamie Spencer,  the filly did not seem to mind the rain that fell, and changed the going. Good to get subscribers off to a winning start.

Epsom Derby:

I gave Delano Roosevelt as an each way (free) bet yesterday.  He ran a solid race to be just out of the frame. He is worth following, as he will have a good race in him this season. The favourite Saxon Warrior did not seem to handle the track  well, he id slightly stumble leaving the stalls.  Having won the 2000 Guineas so well, where he beat Masar and Roaring Lion.  I would not be surprised if something comes to light over the next day or so, for his lacklustre performance.

I was really pleased to see Masar win for Godolphin.  Charlie Appleby obviously looked delighted.  It was good to see him mention his team at home, and jockey Brett Doyle,  who rides Masar in all his homework.  Charlie is a nice guy,  and is doing well with his horses.   Quite the opposite to my old boss.  I am not sure what is going on with Saeed Bin Suroor’s yard.  The statistics do not lie, and Saeed’s stats are very poor for the season so far. Hopefully he can get things back on track for the remainder of the year, he ran a nice two year old yesterday that won, I knew he was fancied.  He handled the rain softened ground well.

No free bet advised today.

2 June 2018

Epsom Derby day is upon us !

Looking at the race, it is hard to look beyond Saxon Warrior.  He has won the best trial and is unbeaten.  Another bonus is he is trained by Aiden O’Brian and ridden by Ryan Moore, but at even money with a few firms (Ladbrokes, Paddy Power) the bit of value is in the balance.  I think he will very likely win, but at 10/1 and above for the rest of the field, I will have a small each way on another that has a live chance.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Delano Roosevelt

Time: 4:30 Epsom

Current Odds: 14/1 EW

This colt ran well to be second last time to Hazapour (who he meets again today).  He was second to Saxon Warrior at 2 over a mile, and although well beaten that day, it was a good run.  He is a really big horse, who has needed time to mature and fill his big frame.  He is still maturing and a lot more improvement is ahead, but his shrewd trainer would not be running him, if he didn’t think he had a decent chance. At good odds, he is my each way bet.

1 June 2018

Really pleased with the amount of subscribers to my new racing information and advisory service.  I am confident that with my proven track record- for advising  winners,  that it will be a very profitable service for my subscribers.

Today is the first day of the Epsom Derby meeting.  The main older horse (4 yo+) race today being the Investec Coronation Cup at 3.10.  Cracksman who will start as a hot favourite, looks to have everything in his favour today, he should have no trouble in winning.  He is probably the best horse in training in Europe, at the moment, he is a course winner,  has a great jockey riding,  and will handle the softish ground.  At 2/7 he is one to put in a double, all is needed is finding one to go with it !

The Investec Oaks at 4.30 Epsom,  is for 3 year old fillies.  This race looks very open to me.   With the Ballydoyle maestro Aiden O’Brian saddling 8 runners for this Group 1 event.  Of them Magic Wand is the choice of stable jockey Ryan Moore, he does not get it wrong very often when choosing what to ride, if I was having a bet, it would be her each way at 9/2.  Hopefully the rain stays away, and the expected big crowd can have an enjoyable dry days racing.

Upcoming Information and Advisory service

I have been working on an exciting new racing project over the last few months.  Over the past year my blog has produced highly profitable results.  If you placed £100 on all horses advised,  you would now be £8,351 in profit!!!!

The new service will work as follows:

  1. You will receive a number of premium tips per month, in exchange for a subscription fee of £50 per month or £100 for 3 months.
  2. Horses advised will be sent to members privately by email, along with an analysis of the race (similar to previous analysis on this blog).
  3. Bets will be based on a points system, for example: 1pt = £100, 5 pts = £500. I will advise a bet of 1 to 5pts.  How members calculate their own points value, is entirely their choice.
  4. This service will be for a limited number of members only.

I am really looking forward to starting this exciting service.  For more information email rosscampbell110@hotmail.com

The Blog

The blog will continue to give daily updates.  I will still give information on possible bets, but they will be on a much reduced frequency.  I hope that some of my followers will join the new venture, especially if they are interested in beating the bookies.

29 May 2018

A good winner yesterday, Burgonet was advised at 3/1 in the morning, she returned at 11/4. Giving a nice profit on the day. She was possibly unsuited by the track, as she looked laboured in the first half of the race, but P J McDonald galvanised her at the business end, she can win again, if not given too much weight by the handicapper.

Nothing to back today, a few horses running I follow, but strong races. More tomorrow.

28 May 2018

Numerous race meetings today.  It always makes it difficult to find a winner, but hopefully I may have, at reasonable odds.

Todays Free tip is as follows:

Horse: Burgonet

Time: 4:05 Leicester

Current Odds: 3/1

I think the front two in the betting are nice improving fillies, so I have backed Burgonet to win, as she is favourite, and I have backed Qaswarah without the fav (Burgonet) at 2/1. They are both improving fillies, and should be OK on the ground ( good to soft).

I have had a 3/4 stake bet to win Burgonet, and a 1/2 stake bet Qaswarah(£125 outlay) obviously it all depends on followers on how much they bet. I calculate my tips at a £100 win or £50 each way, or 1 point win=£100 & 1/2 point each way= £100. Obviously everybody bets differently.

Anyone who does follow, can look at my results in detail. Currently +80 points or £8000.00 since starting last May.

Hopefully I can increase the profit-even more today.

Please keep an eye on the weather at Leicester, as I don’t think these fillies want SOFT ground to produce their best form. Thunder storms are possible.
