20 September 2020

Its been a couple of weeks since my last post. A decent enough start to September for my subscribers. Ascension was advised yesterday at 5/2, he won well in the 5.25 Ayr, he stayed on strongly to gain victory under Andrea Atzeni. I have not advised anything yet today. Chelmsford has a decent line up in the 1.30 race, a small field, but very competitive. If the 3 year old Animal Instinct manages to get loose on the front end, he may be hard to peg back. His rivals all tend to be ridden with a bit of patience, apart from Blown By Wind, who likes to race up with the pace, but tends to get left at the start a lot, so if he misses the start again he will be playing catch up again, and the lightly raced Animal Instinct could be hard to peg back.

In France at Fontainbleau 4.17, the race looks between the front two in the betting. Saqr is a shade of odds on, off the track since winning in June. If fit and ready to go, he may well get the job done in this, although it will not be easy as Axdavali has the best form on offer, Saqr will need to live up to his reputation to win here.

A fair amount of the racing is over for today. Dhabyah 5.30 Windsor is a one I like today. A winner on its debut, improvement will be required to win again today, but the Haggas horses usually step up a lot for some experience. I think at around 11/10 she has strong claims to get her head in front again here.

29 August 2020

Plenty of rain over the last few days in the UK has made a big difference. Most of the tracks today have testing conditions underfoot. At Newmarket the first race was won by Lost in Space, ridden by young Cieran Fallon, who is now second jockey for Qatar racing. So it is nice for the young rider to get off to a decent start in his new job. He galvanised his mount in the latter stages of the 7f event, to win going away from the heavily backed favourite.

At Goodwood where it is described as “Heavy”, some really good races on offer. Lullaby Moon 1.15 is having only her third race, and is now with her third trainer ! Not too sure what is going on with her owner, but if she recaptures her first run when she won, she will have a decent chance in this, ground is a concern. At Windsor, Fox Chairman has solid claims in the 3.15. He should be ok on the ground, and has some good runs of late in group races. This is a really tough race, but I can see him being a shade too strong for likely main rival Extra Elusive.

14 August 2020

I didn’t advise a selection yesterday to my subscribers. But had a nice winner on Wednesday. With Pythagoras 1.35 Beverley advised at 11/10 in the morning, backed into a shade of odds on, he was a ready winner under jockey Andrea Atzeni. Today has the tight turns of Chester starting at 1.40. Chase The Dollar won gamely at Ayr and he would be my choice to win again in the 2.40 race. Only 5 line up, so I would expect rider Tom Marquand to make plenty of use of his mount here, I think if he does dictate the race he could be hard to pass. At Pontefract 3.20 Revolver goes for a fifth win in a row, and I would not be betting against the Sir Mark Prescott trained runner, despite the rise in the handicap, he keeps winning, so confidence is high, and vast improvement over the season so far.

9 August 2020

Interesting couple of races today at Windsor , on ground that will ride ride pretty quick. Star Cactus 2.05 has top weight of 9.7 to carry, faced with 3 rivals she is going to be a short priced favourite to win again. She has proved she stays well, and I expect her to follow up from a win last time.

Later at 4.20 First Winer has a really good chance of winning again, he is going to be quite short in the betting market, but should be good enough to win again here.

More later.

25 July 2020

A good winner yesterday for my subscribers. Chiricahua 4.20 Down Royal despite a massive drift in price to 4/1, the son of Camelot was a cosy winner under Colin Keane, hopefully I can keep up the consistency for the rest of the month. I have had one small bet already which obliged. Caution though, as lots of rain forecast. I do like a few in later races, so an eye on the weather, to see if we do get a lot of rain.

I may well do an update later, I am always cautious when showers fall, as it depends how much of it appears.

24 July 2020

Really pleased to get a good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Arthurian Fable 7.00 Sandown, was advised at 7/2 yesterday morning. Trying a new trip of 1 mile 6 furlongs, the son of Sea The Stars relished being given a patient ride by Ryan Moore, staying on strongly on the climb to the line to score by over 2 lengths.

Today looks difficult at Newmarket. The 2.15 is a mile handicap for three year olds and upwards. Nugget is short priced favourite, and will probably be ridden with a bit of patience, I would expect Cognac to be ridden forward by William Buick, he could well make the running- regarding having a bet, it is a shame it only has 7 lining up. I did think the top weight Ambassadorial could have a decent chance, if he relaxes, as he can be keen and has a new jockey riding today in Tom Marquand.

At Ascot tomorrow Enable is short odds to win the King George V1 and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. I would not bet against her, as her recent race when second in the Eclipse at Sandown should have brought her forward.

20 July 2020

Quite strong fields for a Monday. At Windsor this evening where the ground is officially good to firm, with no rain forecast. Fairy Dust has been well supported in the betting market this morning. She ran well at the track on her debut. Better drawn today than she was on her first start, where she raced wide, giving a lot of ground away. She has a good chance of winning here, with her likely main threats drawn out wide in 11 and 12.

Grand Rumore is around 5/1 for the 6.00 race. She ran well when second 16 days ago at Haydock, although that was on different ground than she faces tonight. Endured was a really promising 2nd on his only run, that was back in January. Given time by Marco Botti, he could be the one to beat if he is fit for this 1 mile maiden.

More tomorrow.

17 June 2020

A good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Magic J 4.55 Sandown, was backed from 9/4- 7/4 before running out a ready winner under Oisin Murphy. The cheek pieces first time clearly helped the son of Scat Daddy focus better. If he is not given too much of a raise by the handicapper, he may well win again. July has been good so far with over 8 points profit, so hopefully it can keep going.

I fancy a few today. I could see Revolver winning again at Haydock 5.55. He has been given a 7lb rise since his last win, but he looked as though he had a bit in hand at Doncaster, so I would not bet against him.

More tomorrow.

13 July 2020

Good run by my advised each way selection Atalis Bay 12.25 Windsor, who was third at 14/1, so a bit of profit for my subscribers.

I thought it was a typical Monday days racing. At Kempton this evening. The 5.40 race is a difficult race to dissect. I did think the course and distance winner Delilah Park at 7/1 was a decent price each way. With top weight of 10 stone, it will be hard to win. But very good track form and usual rider on top George Wood, it is not out of the question, that she can win again.
