12 December 2020

After some decent racing today from the jump meetings. At Cheltenham the big negative run was by Goshen 3.00. He clearly has something amiss with him. He raced keenly, but was a spent force when asked to go forward over two flights from home. Not too sure what he has wrong with him, but he is a horse to avoid at the present.

Tonight we have racing on the level at Wolverhampton. Kath’s Toyboy 6.45 has a good chance to get off the mark. He drops to 5f today, but travels well in his races and everything that has already ran, are nothing special. He very likely has the unraced Donny Marlow as the one to beat, who has attracted support in the betting market. But I am tempted at 11/10 with the favourite, who has racecourse experience on his side.

5 December 2020

Late blog today. I said I would try and give a winner for followers today. Top Rank currently 5/4 without the favourite in the 8.00 Wolverhampton looks very tempting. On a day when numerous odds on shots were beaten. Pyros 4/7 and Grand Mogul at around 4/9 were both well beaten at Sandown. A few more around as well as Sandown.

I did advise Slip Road at 6/1 each way in the 3.07 Chepstow to my subscribers. So nice to get them a good winner, the James Bowen ridden horse, jumped poorly in the main, but still managed to win. Once he gets his jumping sorted out, he will be a useful horse for former jockey Sam Thomas, who has had a nice few winners of late.

4 December 2020

With snow and rain around in the UK, it was good to see racing go ahead at the tracks. Also good to see a return of race goers. I backed Silent Hunter last night at 11/8 , currently 1/3 !

A deduction with the Haggas horse having come out, hopefully he can oblige in the 6.15 Newcastle, it looks a good race for him, and should be fit enough, even though he has been off the track for 2 years.

I will try and give followers a winner tomorrow on here.

3 December 2020

After a good profit for November. Going into December with lots of rain around. Cantering to post for the last at Wincanton 3.45 . The favourite I like To Move It was impressive on debut, it looks between him and the unraced Mondora, with preference for the fav. I will try and do an update later.

24 November 2020

A good winner for my subscribers yesterday, Return Ticket 7/4 won well 12.05 Musselburgh. A few I like today, one horse l will give followers is Chantal 10.55 Compiègne. Race is off in around 10 minutes, this horse was coming to win last time, his only error was the final obstacle, where he dived at the fence and fell. If none the worse, he would be my choice to win today.

I will try and update in an hour or so, hopefully I can get some followers off to a good early start to the day.

13 November 2020

A fairly quiet week, pleased to find a couple of winners for my subscribers over the week, with only three horses advised. I advised Hopeful today who was a cosy winner at Saint Cloud at 6/4, advised at 7/4 this morning. Tomorrow I will go again, with some good racing at Cheltenham and a few hotly contested races elsewhere. I like a couple, and will try and advise folowers a winner at one of the racetracks.

I was impressed with Protektorat at Cheltenham today. He jumped well, his only slight blemish was the last, but found a gear when asked to go and win his race by Harry Skelton turning for home. He could well be a horse for one of the big novice chases at the festival in March.

More tomorrow.

7 November 2020

Battleground was an unlucky loser last night. Drawn wide he broke a bit slow and raced wide, to finish a strong second at the line, I think he was the best horse in the race.

On to today. I said I would give a couple of horses I thought would win today. Big Five 12.00 Saint Cloud is short odds, but should win again. He is a big horse, and might well cope with the heavy ground conditions better than Olympie. One horse at Wincanton to back is Grand Sancy 2.25. He jumped really well when he won at Chepstow, and should be too good for his rivals her, with his trainer Paul Nicholls having his horses in good form of late.

Looking forward to some good racing later tonight in America.

6 November 2020

With most of the racing over in the UK and Ireland today. The race meeting this evening at Keenland, is the first day of the Breeders Cup meeting. In the 8.05 Battleground should run a big race for the powerful Ballydoyle operation of Aiden O’Brian and Ryan Moore. He is a big horse, so hopefully he will handle the quick ground ok, and get the Europeans a winner. A good day ahead tomorrow in America, hopefully more winners can be found.

I will put a post on tomorrow with a couple of horses in the Uk with live chances of winning.

3 November 2020

Having had a good end to October with a nice winner for my subscribers. Captain Morgs who won the 2.32 Ascot on Saturday , boosted the profit up to 18.35 points, which I am very pleased with. I also gave followers Roskana who obliged in the 2.45 Wetherby, she was around 2/1 when I put her on the website, returning at 7/4, so a good day.

I’ve looked at today’s cards, which are difficult. I may well back a horse in France today. I just hope the “bounce” issue does not happen. As sometimes when horses run after a long time off the track, and turn out quickly, they can put in a poor run, if Fines Aires 11.55 Fontainebleau is ok from a recent run, she has a solid chance of winning. I could do an update later today with one at a later meeting.

31 October 2020

Last day of October, with another healthy month. Profit of over 16 points (£1635.00) not bad for under a £90 investment to subscribe. So whatever happens today a decent profit, it would be nice to get a good winner.

With the flat season coming to a close, and soft ground everywhere, jump racing really is kicking into gear. At Wetherby the mare Roskana has a decent chance of getting her season off to a good start at 2.45. She is around 2/1 so tiny bit of value for favourite backers. She will handle conditions, and the Skelton horses seem in good form. On the flat, Oisin Murphy is finishing off the season well, and will be champion again, I watched him ride a very good race at Chelmsford on Thursday, in the 2 mile race. He settled his mount, when 3 riders up the front end took each other on, what Jack Mitchell was thinking on the favourite, I have no idea, as it was an awful ride, Murphy made his race winning move inside the latter stages, and was a ready winner at the line, it was a very smart ride, it’s a shame this young rider will likely get a ban, as he tested positive for a banned substance in France, so will likely get a suspension.

More later.
