Reflecting on the racing today, I just watched the final race at Stratford 8.30. Greystoke ridden by Tom Cannon was unlucky, he was given a lot too do by his rider, and a slight mistake at the last, when trying to close on the front pair virtually put him on the backfoot, and then he was nearly put through the rails by the second, he was unable to recover, but he is one to watch through the summer. I have been a bit disappointed by Tom Cannon on a number of occasions over the last few months, I think he is lucky to be riding for a good trainer, who has good horses, as he is prone to errors, tonight a prime example.

On the level today, Ben Curtis was stood down from riding after his ride in the 2 mile handicap at Haydock on Skycutter, he was reported to have a dislocated shoulder, and was unable to ride a finish when his mount came under pressure, speaking from experience, a dislocated shoulder is very painful, hopefully Ben can make a quick recovery.

Some good racing tomorrow, so hopefully I can find a winner.

A late update, having just seen the Irish 2,000 Guineas won by Native Trail 3.20 Curragh, he was workmanlike in the way he won, and looked as though he would stay a bit further, so maybe he will head for the Eclipse at Sandown next.

Looking at the rest of the racing, I like Nathanael Greene 4.13 Mussleburgh, I think he has Hilts to beat. I have advised one in France for my subscribers at Lyon. Winter Power at Haydock is just heading to the start for the 3.45, she looks ready to run a big race.

More soon.

Another good winner advised yesterday for my subscribers. Blues Rock , 3:00 Vichy-who I advised (without Mount Hotham) at 6/4 was the outright winner, he beat his main rival a short head, so I was happy with that, 15 out of 20 advised bets this month have Won !

I hope followers may of backed Scmillson , who I said on my post yesterday would give the odds on favourite something to think about, he was a cosy winner at Bath.

Lots to look at today, I will update at around 11.30 today, with something to have a bet on, on what is the most difficult day of the week.

More later.

Looking at yesterday’s racing results, Reach For The Moon made an ok comeback 7.15 Sandown evening card. He got tired in the latter stages, and was beaten into second by My Prospero, who is a big unit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they met again, he came out on top, as he can only improve, as it was only his third race, even though he has had a recent run-so had the fitness edge, but I dont think at this stage, the second is a Group 1 horse, he has been beaten too many times, and if he was a solid Group 1 horse, i would expect him to have won.

Looking at today’s cards, Goodwood has some very good racing. Mischief Magic 1.00 will have to be decent to beat Kaasib, who has experience, and won easily last time, the unraced Godolphin colt will not get a hard race, I am not a fan of Buick on unraced two year olds, he should of won on two that were beaten recently, both got unbalanced, and he had his whip in his wrong hand when asking for an effort on the one beaten at Newbury.
At Bath, Schmilsson 4.05 will give short odds favourite Mashaaer something to think about, as he has been knocking at the door, and will run a big race.

I have been having a lot of success betting in France of late, a couple I like today, I may well put an update on at lunchtime, with one to back later today.

More later.

Today in France has the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas, both French classic races for three year old colts and fillies. The fillies race at 2.15 has recent 1,000 Guineas winner at Newmarket, Cachet. A two week gap from her win, she has not got a very good draw in 10, so it makes her job a bit more difficult, if she is ridden like she was when winning two weeks ago, where she made all the running. Rosacea is well drawn, and is trained in France, she would be my choice. The colts equivalent at 2.55 sees Modern Games from the Godolphin operation lining up. He is well drawn, has had a racecourse gallop, and will take beating. The other british horses with good form, Bayside Boy and Claymore are poorly drawn in 14 and 16. I will have a bit each way on Welwal as well as backing Modern Games to win as I think he has a good chance and has the best french rider on his back.

More soon.

14 May 2022

Some really good racing today. At Newbury Baaeed 3.20 looks a penalty kick in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes over the straight mile. I also like Ehraz 1.35, he ran ok on his debut this year when third, Tiber Flow could be the one to beat. At Newmarket 1.50 Zain Sarinda could upset the very promising maiden Ottoman Fleet, he has the best form this season, and his run at Epsom when a close third was a good effort, as he didn’t handle the track, but finished his race off well.
At Bangor-On -Dee 2.50, I think Costly Diamond could defy her penalty for a recent win, in what looks an open race with all five runners having a chance of winning.

A La Francaise 11.35 Lyon-Parilly would be my choice, I think she can beat the favourite Influx, who was third when she was second on her last run, she is a big filly, who looks unexposed, Influx for me is talented, but does not look to be straightforward.

More soon.

13 May 2022

Another good day for my subscribers yesterday. I advised Take My Chances 3.10 Salisbury, who bolted up, she was recommended at 2/1, returning at 13/8, I also advised Warren Point 7.10 Newmarket- at 5/4, he was well backed into 10/11, winning by a neck under William Buick, possibly a shade more in the locker, as he was given a very sympathetic ride, a promising horse in second, who had quite a hard race for his first run , but one to follow.

I advised a couple of winners in France for my followers yesterday, both were short odds but I always think any winner is a good price. I do like a few today, lots to look at, I do think Le Duc 3.00 Saint Cloud at 3/1 is a bit of value, he probably has Eternal Gold to beat to win.

More later.

12 May 2022

Hopefully my followers backed Savvy Knight yesterday at Bath, he managed to get the “bob of the head “ on the line, I was a bit surprised he drifted out to 11/10, but the horse he beat has solid form in National Hunt flat races, having won two races and running a decent 7th in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham festival. So under a penalty, it was a good effort for a three year old.

Looking at todays racing, El Bodegon 3.35 York, has his first run of the year, in what is always classed as a strong trial and good guide for the Epsom Derby, this race looks to have a few that could head to Epsom, with good runs needed today, if they are to head in that direction, with a chance of winning. For me El Bodegon has by far the best form, he has won a Group 3 and a Group 1 in France at 2. The ground at York should pose no issues, he won on soft ground last year, but todays good ground should be fine, a good horse will go on any ground, but obviously they have a preference to be at their best. His likely main threats are Desert Crown and Royal Patronage, with the latter having run a reasonable race in the 2,000 Guineas recently. Desert Crown was impressive in his only race at two, when winning easily, he could be a very useful horse, but he didn’t beat much that day, and may lack a bit of experience.

Anyone looking for a couple of winners in France today, Fantastic Spirit 11.45 and Maelek 12.50 Tarbes are horses I like the look of, both are short odds, but should be hard to beat.

More soon.

11 May 2022

Another good Winner today for my subscribers. Master Gatsby 2.00 Fontainbleau, was a ready winner at 3/1. I also advised having him in a forecast with the second Galashiels, which was just over 6/1, so the profit for the month is up to 15.7 points (£1570.00) not bad for an £85.00 monthly payment.
Looking at the remainder of todays racing, any short odds backers will probably back Savvy Victory 6.30 Bath. He looked very honest when winning on his debut at Nottingham, and I think his trainer Sean Woods has found a race he can follow up in here.

More soon.

7 May 2022

A good start to May for my subscription members. 7 horses advised, and 6 have won ! Facteur Cheval 12.05 Lyon today was advised at 5/2 yesterday, he was heavily backed into even money, scoring comfortably under Gerard Mosse. A profit of 7.83 points (£783.00) so far, hopefully I can keep the winners coming !

I like to try and find a winner for my followers as well, especially on a Saturday. At Lingfield 2.40 Walk Of Stars will be looking to enhance his credentials for a trip to Epsom in June. He has looked progressive in every start so far, and as last years winner of the Epsom Derby was only second in this last year, after a moderate ride from William Buick, hopefully William will ride this horse well forward, as he stays very well, I would expect his stable mate to likely make the running, and Natural World is for me his main threat, I was not overly impressed with United Nations on his run last time, although he will come on for that run, when he was fourth.

At Nottingham 3.55 I do like Aussie Banker, he has gone up 8lb for his win at Haydock, and Shane Kelly who teams up with Richard Hughes, having formerly having the pick of the stable runners up until a split last season. Shane can get the job done for the team today, and hopefully get more rides for the Hughes stable, as he is a very under rated jockey.
