It was good to see Inspiral make a winning return yesterday at Royal Ascot. She scored very easily under Frankie Dettori, who has had a relatively poor Ascot, for him. He has had a bit of stick in the press for his rides during the week, on Stradavarius , who I did not think was good enough, and I dont think Dettori did too much wrong. Saga was the the other horse on Thursday he was adjudged to have ridden poorly, I tend to agree that he should of won, he came from a long way back, the defence for Frankie, is the horse is not totally genuine, he had blinkers on for the first time, as he has been below par on his last few runs.

On to today, Missed The Cut 5.35 Ascot, is a real improver, and could well be ahead of the handicapper. He would be my choice in a very competitive race. I do like Hurricane Lane 3.40 Ascot. He has had a racecourse gallop, and should be too good for his rivals. Looking elsewhere, Victory Dance 1.32 Newmarket is reported to be useful, he has a live threat in Bresson, who ran a good race on debut when third. He will improve for that experience, and has a solid chance.

Today at Royal Ascot 5.35 sees Reach For The Moon having his second race of the year. I think he looks a banker, he is very short odds, but I will be surprised if he gets beat, as his rivals have shown form that are nothing like his.

Kyprios 4.20 is my choice in the Gold Cup. He won really well on his last run in Ireland, and I think he can beat his older rivals, Trueshan will very likely be a non runner on the quick ground, former winner Stradavarious is the one to beat.

A good winner for my subscribers yesterday. Paradias 3.50 Yarmouth scored at 3/1, making all the running.

Today has good racing, at Sandown the 1.45 looks a really good contest for two year olds. One Nation was given a poor ride at Yarmouth when third on debut, as he was never put in the race, hopefully Buick can make amends today, his main threat looks to be Freedom Day. At York 4.40, I like Your Spirit, who was hampered when a decent third on her debut. She should improve, and the sharp 5f should be ok, Nashur looks the one to beat.

A good winner advised for my subscribers yesterday. Factuer Cheval 12.20 Lyon- Parilly was advised at 11/10 yesterday morning, he returned at 4/7, scoring easily under Gerald Mosse.

Today in France at Chantilly, it is the French Derby at 3.00 pm. Modern Games, trained by Charlie Appleby will be looking to follow up from his win in the 2,000 Guineas (French) last month, when he was a good winner. Today will be much harder i think, he is poorly drawn in 13, and any rain will not enhance his chances. I would prefer to back something each way. Ancient Rome is well drawn, will handle any rain and if ridden more forward, has a good chance. He is a strong galloper, and being ridden for a turn of foot does not play to this horses best quality. At around 8/1, he is worth an each way bet.

Looking at the Epsom Derby result yesterday. Desert Crown was a comfortable winner, he had a clear passage, unlike Westover, who stayed on strongly after having trouble in running. Rob Hornby who rode Westover, may want to look at his ride a few times, as I don’t understand why he had his whip in his right hand, as his horse drifted left, away from his whip, when he managed to get daylight, on the run towards the winning post, horses are known to roll left down the camber at Epsom, he should have known that, he would not of won- but it cost him second place.

A good profit for May of 17.02 points (£1702.00). So really pleased with that. I advised a lot more selections this month, with 17 winning bets, which is the most ever since I started, slightly below my most profitable month, but still good.

I am looking forward to the next few months, with the Epsom Derby and Oaks next weekend. A couple of horses entered in the next few days , so hopefully I can get off to a decent start for June.

28 May 2022

A very difficult day trying to find a winner, a typical Saturday !

I do like Thunder Legend 1.10 Haydock, he got a bit tired on his last run, when a fair third at Ascot. He will strip fitter for that, and is worth a bet.

At Chelmsford, Brave Emperor 3.00 would be my choice, he has Centre Court to beat, but the extra furlong today should bring out some more improvement in him, and although a short price, he is one to put in a double with one.

Razeyna 2.01 Chester, was unlucky last time, she can make amends and win this, racing back on grass should be more suitable, although she blew the start at Newcastle, if she does that at Chester, its almost game over, as it is a track were everyone tries to race a long way from home usually, and if you are at the back of the field it is not easy to pass horses, that have gone too early and weaken inside the latter stages.

24 May 2022

Another good winner advised for my subscription members today. Spangled Mac 1.50 Bath was advised at 3/1 this morning, he returned at 11/4, scoring well under Daniel Muscutt. My best month regards number of winning advised bets, 16 from 24, with only one out of the first 4. Hopefully I can end the month well, profit is currently 16.47 points (£1647.00) for May.

I will try to find a couple of winners tomorrow. I do like a few entries, hopefully they will represent a bit of value in the betting market.

21 May 2022

Reflecting on the racing today, I just watched the final race at Stratford 8.30. Greystoke ridden by Tom Cannon was unlucky, he was given a lot too do by his rider, and a slight mistake at the last, when trying to close on the front pair virtually put him on the backfoot, and then he was nearly put through the rails by the second, he was unable to recover, but he is one to watch through the summer. I have been a bit disappointed by Tom Cannon on a number of occasions over the last few months, I think he is lucky to be riding for a good trainer, who has good horses, as he is prone to errors, tonight a prime example.

On the level today, Ben Curtis was stood down from riding after his ride in the 2 mile handicap at Haydock on Skycutter, he was reported to have a dislocated shoulder, and was unable to ride a finish when his mount came under pressure, speaking from experience, a dislocated shoulder is very painful, hopefully Ben can make a quick recovery.

Some good racing tomorrow, so hopefully I can find a winner.

21 May 2022

A late update, having just seen the Irish 2,000 Guineas won by Native Trail 3.20 Curragh, he was workmanlike in the way he won, and looked as though he would stay a bit further, so maybe he will head for the Eclipse at Sandown next.

Looking at the rest of the racing, I like Nathanael Greene 4.13 Mussleburgh, I think he has Hilts to beat. I have advised one in France for my subscribers at Lyon. Winter Power at Haydock is just heading to the start for the 3.45, she looks ready to run a big race.

More soon.

21 May 2022

Another good winner advised yesterday for my subscribers. Blues Rock , 3:00 Vichy-who I advised (without Mount Hotham) at 6/4 was the outright winner, he beat his main rival a short head, so I was happy with that, 15 out of 20 advised bets this month have Won !

I hope followers may of backed Scmillson , who I said on my post yesterday would give the odds on favourite something to think about, he was a cosy winner at Bath.

Lots to look at today, I will update at around 11.30 today, with something to have a bet on, on what is the most difficult day of the week.

More later.
