Hopefully my followers backed Savvy Knight yesterday at Bath, he managed to get the “bob of the head “ on the line, I was a bit surprised he drifted out to 11/10, but the horse he beat has solid form in National Hunt flat races, having won two races and running a decent 7th in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham festival. So under a penalty, it was a good effort for a three year old.

Looking at todays racing, El Bodegon 3.35 York, has his first run of the year, in what is always classed as a strong trial and good guide for the Epsom Derby, this race looks to have a few that could head to Epsom, with good runs needed today, if they are to head in that direction, with a chance of winning. For me El Bodegon has by far the best form, he has won a Group 3 and a Group 1 in France at 2. The ground at York should pose no issues, he won on soft ground last year, but todays good ground should be fine, a good horse will go on any ground, but obviously they have a preference to be at their best. His likely main threats are Desert Crown and Royal Patronage, with the latter having run a reasonable race in the 2,000 Guineas recently. Desert Crown was impressive in his only race at two, when winning easily, he could be a very useful horse, but he didn’t beat much that day, and may lack a bit of experience.

Anyone looking for a couple of winners in France today, Fantastic Spirit 11.45 and Maelek 12.50 Tarbes are horses I like the look of, both are short odds, but should be hard to beat.

Another good Winner today for my subscribers. Master Gatsby 2.00 Fontainbleau, was a ready winner at 3/1. I also advised having him in a forecast with the second Galashiels, which was just over 6/1, so the profit for the month is up to 15.7 points (£1570.00) not bad for an £85.00 monthly payment.
Looking at the remainder of todays racing, any short odds backers will probably back Savvy Victory 6.30 Bath. He looked very honest when winning on his debut at Nottingham, and I think his trainer Sean Woods has found a race he can follow up in here.

A good start to May for my subscription members. 7 horses advised, and 6 have won ! Facteur Cheval 12.05 Lyon today was advised at 5/2 yesterday, he was heavily backed into even money, scoring comfortably under Gerard Mosse. A profit of 7.83 points (£783.00) so far, hopefully I can keep the winners coming !

I like to try and find a winner for my followers as well, especially on a Saturday. At Lingfield 2.40 Walk Of Stars will be looking to enhance his credentials for a trip to Epsom in June. He has looked progressive in every start so far, and as last years winner of the Epsom Derby was only second in this last year, after a moderate ride from William Buick, hopefully William will ride this horse well forward, as he stays very well, I would expect his stable mate to likely make the running, and Natural World is for me his main threat, I was not overly impressed with United Nations on his run last time, although he will come on for that run, when he was fourth.

At Nottingham 3.55 I do like Aussie Banker, he has gone up 8lb for his win at Haydock, and Shane Kelly who teams up with Richard Hughes, having formerly having the pick of the stable runners up until a split last season. Shane can get the job done for the team today, and hopefully get more rides for the Hughes stable, as he is a very under rated jockey.

A good winner for my subscribers yesterday, Selwan 12.25 Nancy (France) was advised at 5/2 yesterday morning. He was returned at 2/1, scoring cosily.

Today has some good racing, with three jump meetings at Kelso, Fontwell and Newton Abbot and the first day of the May meeting of Chester, also racing at Kempton and Gowran Park in Ireland, all on the flat.

At Newton Abbot, Seddon jumped really well when he tried fences for the first time, when rallying from the last fence, to get back up to win over this track, so he is proven over the sharp track, he goes at 4.00, and will be hard to beat.

At Chester 2.40, Above The Curve runs in a decent fillies trial for the Epsom Oaks. She was a decent winner last time, and with improvement she could be too good for her rivals, although Night Battle and Hello Jumeirah will not make easy for her, both won on debut, and look useful prospects.
