Looking at today’s meetings, Hereford and Plumpton are both jumping, and Kempton twilight card is on the level.  At Plumpton, where the ground looks like being pretty quick, Zoffany Bay has his second run over hurdles today at 1:30.  He was a good second last time at Exeter, this flat winner jumped well on debut and would be my idea of the winner of this maiden hurdle.  Kempton has some nice fillies running in the 4:30, it looks hard trying to split the pair Watheerah and Fabiolla, they both ran very good debut races, I slightly prefer the former, who has champion apprentice Jason Watson riding, he rode a Group 1 winner yesterday in Italy for Luca Cumani on God Given at Cappenelle.

Tomorrow morning is the Melbourne Cup in Australia, a number of horses from the UK and Ireland are trying to win the £2.3 million pot, Cross Counter is only 3, he must run well, although his draw is not ideal.  With only 8 stone on his back, He has an excellent rider on top in Kerrin Mckevoy, who will be hoping to win the race again for his former employers Godolphin. It is a race that looks very open, 24 runners over 2 miles, you need a lot of luck in running, they race very tight in Australia, so the riders have to be brave !
