30 October 2018

Looking at tonight’s evening meeting at Wolverhampton.  Some competitive races, the 7:15 is a fillies Novice Stakes.  Dreaming Away has attracted some interest in the betting, she has been backed from 7/1 into 3/1, she must be well regarded, he trainer Simon Crisford has his horses in good shape.  Sun Hat is another with a good chance for Crisford in the 8:15 race.  October has been a hard month to back winners, a lot of big priced winners on the flat, and the jump race meetings are only just starting to get going.

Roll on November !

29 October 2018

Quite late post today.  I was looking at the race meetings earlier , trying to find a winner looked difficult.  I had an interest in one in the 2:15 at Redcar, who ran far too keen in the early stages of the 1m 6f trip, he faded in the latter stages, if they don’t relax they don’t get home , especially on rain softened ground.

Some competitive races at Chelmsford tonight.  I do think that some of the races are pretty tough to solve,  the first race is interesting, I thought L’Un Deaux Trois has each way chances, he ran well on grass recently.  It has a hot favourite in Say The Word, whose trainer Simon Crisford has his horses in really good from.

27 October 2018

Late post today. Pleased to get a nice winner today for my subscribers, San Donato 1:45 Doncaster was advised at 5/2 this morning.  He won well, backed into 2/1 after a slight drift to 3/1 at one stage.  I usually like to try and give an each way free tip on Saturday for followers, apologies for missing out with a selection today, as I was at a football tournament.

I will try and give a free tip in the week.  Good luck with the rest of today.

26 October 2018

Fair amount of rain around most of the race meetings earlier today.  Looking at the Doncaster racing, which is good to soft at the moment, Solid Stone 2:25 can be expected to improve for his run 34 days ago, he should have a good chance of winning today. After a shower of rain this morning at Cheltenham, where the ground is good, I do like Go Another One in the 2:00.

23 October 2018

I looked at today’s meetings and thought that it could be a favourites day at Exeter.  I missed backing Bradford Bridge 2:50, he was 4/6 when I left my house, and was shocked with his price, he won after drifting to evens !

Looking at the later races at Kempton tonight, Fox Campion 7:10 has drifted to 5/2 from 7/4.  He was heavily backed on debut, second that day, running a promising race.  He has a live chance, obviously the favourite, Evasive Power is the one to beat, I think it will be a good race, both are nice types.

22 October 2018

Late post today.  I have just seen the 6:10 at Kempton, and Jirnass who finished third was coming with a strong run under Jim Crowley, he was looking like possibly winning,  or he would of been a close second, when he went wrong in the last 75 yards of the race.  Crowley tried to pull him up when it happened, hopefully it is not a career elder.  A lot of runners in the race were given tender rides ! I actually had backed London Eye each way, he was given a very ‘considerate ‘ ride, and is one to follow when he gets a handicap mark.

The remainder of tonight’s races look pretty competitive.  Silver River will be very short odds in the 8:10, he looks as though he has a good opportunity of getting off the mark.

21 October 2018

Pleased to get a winner from my selection yesterday for my subscribers.  Normal Norman 2:15 Market Rasen,  was advised at 5/4 yesterday morning, he was well supported in the betting, he returned at 10/11, winning quite cosy was good.

Well Cracksman turned up in spades yesterday at Ascot.  He was a very easy winner of the 10f Champion Stakes, the second time he has won the race, he galloped on strongly when asked by Dettori to go and win his race about 2f out,  he will now head to Stud to be a Stallion.

Quick ground at Kempton today.  The jump trainers want a little bit of rain, it is pretty dry for October.  A couple of well contested hurdle races.  Verdanna Blue looks to have a good chance of making a winning start to her 18/19 National Hunt season, she was a recent winner on the flat, so is fit.

More later.

20 October 2018

Really strong fields at Ascot today.  It could be a good day for trainer John Gosden , he has 4 horses with big chances.  Roaring Lion drops back to a mile for the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth 11 Stakes at 3:15, he will be difficult to beat, although he is better over 10f, he probably doesn’t want the ground as soft as it is, so I am willing to watch it ! I mentioned yesterday about Cracksman, he has his ground, it just depends on what frame of mind he is in. So if having a bet at Ascot, look for one that has proven form on the soft,  Addeybb has had ran only three times this season, he needs some give underfoot, he is my each way selection in the 3:15, he is around 8/1 with some firms.  Hopefully he can be in the mix, it will be very hard work for them all.

More later.

19 October 2018

Late post today.  Just been very busy most of the day, did not see much racing.

Few races left at Newcastle and Dundalk this evening.  I am not too interested in Dundalk,  Newcastle last races look difficult as well.  Looking ahead to racing tomorrow,  Cracksman runs at Ascot tomorrow, he has got his ground, likes the track and won the race last year.  If he has his race head on, he will win, but backing him before you see how he is going to behave before the off  ! I am not keen, he has blinkers on for the first time, that is a bit of a concern to me, it looks as though he is  thinking a bit too much.

At 5/6 you really want a lot of boxes ticked, he has the most talent of the field, but watch his behaviour if you are interested in backing him.

I will try and find an each way bet tomorrow, my luck at the moment is bumpy ! So small stakes until it changes.

18 October 2018

Couple of meetings this evening at Chelmsford and Wolverhampton.  I did like the look of Gentle Look 5.45, he ran well last time.  His danger is Murray River, who could well be a bit of a thinker ! If he puts his best foot forward, he is a big threat.

Looking towards the weekend.  Cracksman may well get his ground conditions on Saturday at Ascot, if he is focused on the race, he will be very tough to beat.
