11 June 2018

Late blog today.  Good to see some sunshine in the UK.  Hopefully the rain stays away and we get some summer ground at most of the racecourses.

I see an incident at happened at Goodwood yesterday, in the weighing room.  Jim Crowley and Raul De Silva seem to have fallen out with each other, resulting in De Silva being banned for 21 days, for striking Crowley in the face !

To be very honest, it does happen a fair bit, heated arguments, usually after a race.  I have seen a few incidents that have ended up with two jockeys fighting.  I recall Jimmy Duggan and Gary Moore (trainer now) having a good go at each other, after something had happened in a race at Plumpton.  It was over in a flash, both of them were laughing and joking about it the next day.  I’m sure Crowley and De Silva will of shook hands and try to forget about yesterday.

Windsor card this evening looks very tricky, hard to find a winner as I see it.  Flying Sparkle 6:50 was a good winner last time out, she could probably win again, her biggest obstacle could be stall 9 ! The draw at Windsor is important over 6f, you want to be drawn low. So at short odds, I will be observing the race only.

10 June 2018

7  WINNERS from last 10 bets  advised .  A good winner for my subscribers yesterday.  God Given , who I advised to back won at 9/4 , at Haydock.  I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of her rider Jamie Spencer.  No question about his riding ability, he is a good jockey.  I just think he rides the majority of horses the same way, although yesterday he rode an excellent race on God Given, he was very strong in the finish. I am waiting for two horses next week, both will win, if you follow and don’t subscribe to my advisory service you are MISSING making the bookies suffer !

I did not wait up last night, to watch Justify win at Belmont Park.  Great to see he completed the Triple Crown , with last nights cosy win in the Belmont Stakes. He is a very good horse, and still unbeaten.

My Free tip yesterday Byron Flyer was hampered by the fall of Addicted To You, as a consequence of the interference, Byron Flyer’s metal clip off his plate(racing shoes) became wedged in his foot, it was good to see Ryan Moore realise in the latter stages of the race that something was amiss with his horse, and eased him up-hopefully he will be ok.

On a more important issue, Harry Bentley who was down on the turf for quite a while after being dislodged by Addicted To You was ‘sore’ but should be ok.  He did not ride again again yesterday, after the fall.

9 June 2018

Numerous meetings today all over the UK, plus the Curragh in Ireland.

It is always very difficult to try and find a winner on any Saturday, today is no different.  The handicap races offer good prize money at most Saturday cards-making it harder to win one, competition is very tough !

I try and give followers a free tip on a Saturday, that is reasonable odds.

Byron Flyer competes in a tough handicap- 3:40 Newmarket.  He has a good each way chance.  He has consistent form, and Ryan Moore riding-lots of positives !

The big race this evening in America is the Belmont Stakes.  Justify is trying to win and be a Triple Crown winner, hopefully he can do it.

8 June 2018

A lot of racing today, 8 meetings including the two taking place in Ireland. It looks pretty tough to find a winner, few horses racing at evening meetings I like.  Just watched an Odds on shot get beat in the 2:00 Carlisle.  The winner Suitcase ‘N’ Taxi trained by Tim Easterby was a game winner, his horses are in rude health, well worth following any of his horses running.

He runs a decent filly in the 3:00 at Carlisle, Angels is going for a third win in a row, I would not be backing against her !

7 June 2018

A bit late with the blog post today.  I was pleased to see Andrew Thornton ride a winner on his last day riding yesterday at Uttoxeter. To ride over 1,000 winners is an incredible achievement for any jockey, to do it as a jump jockey is even harder.  Being a National Hunt jockey is the most dangerous sport going !

My old weighing room colleague and great friend Declan Murphy, described it as being like an addict, but without the drugs, the adrenaline rush is great, and to ride a winner is a big high.

Information and Advisory service:

My new subscription service has got off to a great start.  The last 4 horses I have advised to back, have all won !

Including today’s selection Hombre Casado 4:20 Yarmouth, I advised him at 2/1 (without fav). And yesterday my two selections  advised both won easily, advised to back in single bets,  and in a double.

Anyone who follows and wants to win money, and beat the bookmakers, join my advisory service. All is needed is to send an email, saying you wish to join :rosscampbell110@hotmail.com

My system is clearly working, all my results are for anyone to see, totally transparent.

More tomorrow.

6 June 2018

Hopefully followers had a little bet ew on What’s The Story last night at Newcastle, he was a good winner for the Keith Dalgliesh stable.

Today looks pretty tough.  I would like to see Andrew Thornton ride a winner on his last day as a jockey.  He is well respected by all his peers, he had a unique style, but it was effective.  Very good rider on chasers, his horses jumped very well for him, on the whole.

Hopefully he gets a good send off.

More tomorrow.

5 June 2018

I have been reading in the Racing Post that Andrew Thornton is retiring tomorrow.  He has been riding for a long time, I rode against him, so that’s how long he has been  a jockey !

I really hope he has a good day tomorrow, and has safe rides on his mounts, I believe he has 3 or 4.  At 46 he is the eldest jump jockey currently riding, that is a feat in its self. He must of had nerves of steel.

A lot of competitive races today, if I was having a bet at Newcastle this evening, I would probably have a small EW on What’s The Story in the 8:15.  It’s a very open race, any one of 3 or 4 could win it.

More tomorrow.

4 June 2018

Nice to get another winner yesterday for my subscribers, Fifty Shades was advised at  11/10, he was heavily backed into 10/11. His rider dropped his whip after jumping the last hurdle, but managed to galvanise him to victory. Fakenham was always a lucky track when I was a jockey.  I remember when my brother was training he set a decent horse we had called Reggae Beat up for a couple of good wins at the track, on both occasions all I had to do was steer in the right direction ! He bolted up on both occasions, Ian knew how to train a horse.

No stand out’s today yet.  I may put a free tip on later, just keeping an eye on the weather.

3 June 2018

Nice to get a winner for my new information and advisory service yesterday.  White Chocolate was advised at 11/8,  and backed into 6/5.  She was given a confident ride by Jamie Spencer,  the filly did not seem to mind the rain that fell, and changed the going. Good to get subscribers off to a winning start.

Epsom Derby:

I gave Delano Roosevelt as an each way (free) bet yesterday.  He ran a solid race to be just out of the frame. He is worth following, as he will have a good race in him this season. The favourite Saxon Warrior did not seem to handle the track  well, he id slightly stumble leaving the stalls.  Having won the 2000 Guineas so well, where he beat Masar and Roaring Lion.  I would not be surprised if something comes to light over the next day or so, for his lacklustre performance.

I was really pleased to see Masar win for Godolphin.  Charlie Appleby obviously looked delighted.  It was good to see him mention his team at home, and jockey Brett Doyle,  who rides Masar in all his homework.  Charlie is a nice guy,  and is doing well with his horses.   Quite the opposite to my old boss.  I am not sure what is going on with Saeed Bin Suroor’s yard.  The statistics do not lie, and Saeed’s stats are very poor for the season so far. Hopefully he can get things back on track for the remainder of the year, he ran a nice two year old yesterday that won, I knew he was fancied.  He handled the rain softened ground well.

No free bet advised today.
