Northumberland Plate day today.  It looks very hard to find the winner ! I would like to see Nakeeta win for Iain Jardine.  He is a very useful horse, hopefully he can run well.  In the 1:30 Newcastle, which looks very difficult as well , 20 runners over 2 miles.  This is the consolation race for the Northumberland Plate ( horses who missed the cut) for the main race at 2:05.

Bedrock for Iain Jardine has a good profile for the race, he stays well.  He did run a fair race on his only try on a synthetic surface two runs ago when 2nd at Chelmsford.  He was well beaten that day, and it is difficult to know if he is as good on the all weather, as he is on turf.  One horse who has not tried the all weather before is The Grand Visir, he is the one I think is worth a few pounds each way.  He has a good jockey, stays well and won a shade cosy last time in first time cheekpieces.  He is currently around 11/2.

My subscription service has done well again this month.  Currently 8+ points (£800+).  All my results are available to see online.  I do not hide my results, a lot of people who have similar advisory services do !

Do avoid these services, especially if you cannot access their FULL results.  I cannot name them, But RUK has shown one or two of these people quite regularly, giving the usual speel !

I had a good start to the month, slight bump or two along the way, but that is what happens now and again when backing horses.   Stilla decent profit.  I am confident  I will get another good month in July, and will be working hard to keep the WINNERS coming.

Good luck today.

29 June 2018

Late Blog post today.  I fancied one earlier today that ran too bad to be true ! Maybe something will come too light over the next day or so, when asked to go and win its race, it’s head went to one side and slightly up.  Some good racing tonight at Newmarket.  It is the July racecourse now for the next few months, it will be very busy tonight with the great weather. Trying to find a winner looks tough.

World Cup Football :

Great to see England qualify for the next round.  Columbia will be a tough team to beat, they are a good side.  Hopefully we can beat them.  I do think that any team from about 6 could win the trophy.  England still have a chance of being in the mix, I do think Southgate is doing a good job.

I will ty and find an each way bet for tomorrow. It is the hardest day of the week to find a winner, although no day is easy !

28 June 2018

I was just watching some of the racing from yesterday at Worcester.  In the first race Key To The West ridden by Kielan Woods was making his challenge on his mount after jumping the last fence, on the left (inside) of the eventual winner Alys Rock.  About 200 yards from the winning post the course narrows slightly.  Woods had seemed to be getting a final effort from his mount, and may well of won the race,  but he did a number of things what I consider ‘Amateurish’ in riding a finish.

  1.  He kept putting head down, and not looking where he was going.
  2. His contact with the horses mouth was all wrong, he did not have the gelding collected up, (washing line reigns)  which allowed his horse to wander and become unbalanced, and as a consequence of that, his horse collided with the rail, and Woods almost fell off

I have not seen much of Kielan Woods riding to be honest.  But what I saw yesterday was poor and not what you expect from an experienced jockey.  Having ridden winners for trainer John Spearing myself,  and ridden for him on the flat and over jumps many times. I think he will of got a rollocking !

More later.

Racing today looks competitive.  The card at Kempton later today, has a few nice horses running.  Lots of trainers from the bigger yard’s seem to like running two year olds having their debut run at the track. Simon Crisford has Sporting Chance 6:40 running tonight.  He is already a winner 29 days ago, and could well defy his winners penalty, he has a good draw, plus Adam Kirby on top.  I think he has a favourite’s chance.

It is always tricky when you take on unraced rivals, like Sporting Chance is,  you just don’t know for sure what to fully expect from his opponents, even if they have impressed at home.  Racecourse experience is worth a few pounds, especially with two year olds.

Very tough today to find a winner with the horses!

Nothing stands out at the moment.

World Cup Football:

Good result for England yesterday.  Hopefully everyone will not get too excited ! Panama were an average team, very dirty with tactics, the England players did well to keep their composure.  Harry Kane was ruthless on both of his penalties, he hit the shot with great accuracy and power.  Hopefully he stays injury free, he would be a massive loss to the team, if he picks up a knock.

Uruguay could be good odds today,  at 13/8 to beat Russia. More on racing tomorrow.

23 June 2018

Update:

Mac Tottie 2.00 Perth looks as though he could be tough to oppose today.  I am interested to see if he wins, he was 2nd to Linganno Felice when he won on Linganno’s second win at Market Rasen.

Iain Jardine has told my wife and father in law their horse is in good shape, and pencilled in for 21st July for the Summer Hurdle (handicap) .

Cant find a winner at Royal Ascot yet !

23 June 2018

Nice to get a winner for my subscribers 13 WINNERS this month from 20 bets advised.  Savaanah who I advised at 11/8 (without Fav) yesterday am, was a cosy winner 7.15 Wetherby.  She handled the quick ground well, and was given a confident ride by Adam Mcnamara.  He is a young jockey who is not really getting enough chances at the moment, good vaue for his 3lb allowance.

I will do an update message later and try and give followers a free each way tip in at Royal Ascot.  The meeting is so tough to try and back winners at, that is why I lower my sights and look at the other meetings, like yesterday !

More later.

21 June 2018

Frankie Dettori was at his supreme best yesterday.  His ride on Stradivarius was brilliant.  He may be 47, but he seems to be riding as well as ever, at Ascot he is so good.

Today is as it has been over the previous days, very difficult to pick a winner !

It is interest betting only for me.  I can see the Ballydoyle maestro Aiden O’Brian having another good day.  Just Wonderful has been heavily backed this morning, she is from an excellent family.  Ryan Moore has opted to ride her, so it looks as though she is expected to be the best of the O’Brian fillies. I hope Invincible Army can run his usual consistent race in the 3:40. This horse is totally genuine, he has won 2/6 of his last 8 starts, with good runs on the other four starts, finishing 2nd in all four !

More tomorrow.

21 June 2018

Late with my blog post today.  I just walked in to the house to see the 3:40 at Royal Ascot.  Magic Wand whom I backed in the Oaks, bounced back to form on the faster surface today, she didn’t perform to her best when 4th at Epsom.  It just shows once again what an exceptional trainer Aiden Obrian is.  He is on another level to the majority of trainers, John Gosden is obviously a brilliant trainer, but sadly my old boss Saeed Bin Suroor is struggling to find a winner at the meeting.  Charlie Appleby on the other hand has been doing well this season.  Having left the Godolphin team almost 7 years ago myself, it was sadly on the slow slope down then, and currently does not look like getting back to the great days of the late 90’s and early millennium years! Another Daylami, Fantastic Light or Doyen is badly needed.  I hope Saeed can find one, the best horse during my time with the blue team was Dubai Millenium.  He was an absolute machine, but horses like him only come along once !
