A hood back on today for this gelding will hopefully help him to relax.  He has won in a hood, and also without it when going right handed at Sandown two runs ago. Going right handed again today should not be any issue,  his last run was below par, in a good handicap,  but there were reasonable excuses, he raced very wide that day, and was too keen, eventually he tired about 3f from home,  and was wisely pulled up.  That race was over 2m 4f,  the drop back in trip today should help him a lot, plus this is a flat track, that suits a horse ridden up with the pace.  I think at 9/2 he is value ew, his jockey has won on him before and knows him well.

Of rivals, Destrier has shown a good level of form, he has a double penalty for his two previous wins.  He ran ok last time in a grade 2 race at this track, he never really got into the race that day,  he tends to be a bit headstrong in his races and he was held up that day, his usual way of racing.  That day the winner made all the running, and kept galloping, having had the run of the race.  Destrier is the main threat I think. Elixir De Nutz was highly tried on his last run, he pulled hard and tired badly in very soft ground that day, on better ground today and an easier track, he could well be in the frame, but he needs to relax in the first half of the race.
