Small profit yesterday with Shakour who was third, advised at 7/1 each way.  He ran well, the two I mentioned that were threats beat him, I think the first four home in the race are all potentially smart types, and worth following.

I am backing this horse each way, he has won at the track in a bumper and been placed as well, so he acts on the course.  In a race that Brahms De Clermont will start as favourite, and will be difficult to beat, although he has a double penalty to contend with, which may give his rivals a fair chance.  My selection is receiving 12 lb from the favourite, which gives him a decent chance of being right in the mix !

Other rivals that have chances are Parthenius who is a winner over hurdles, and Grapevine is interesting,  he comes from a good stable, he will have been well schooled,  and was a winner on the flat. Sizing Cusimino could also be interesting on his second run.

Only all weather meetings today in UK, weather has caused Hexham and Leicester to be called off.

In a novice race with the favourite Highbrow a bit too short at 4/5 to back, although he will be difficult to beat.  My selection is well drawn and ran well on debut, it was a fair maiden he was running in last time at Wolverhampton, and he was running on after missing the break, bit more required to win this, but each way I think he is a bit of value. Of other rivals the Godolphin horse  Returning Glory could be useful, but lacks a run and has a bad draw to deal with.

With only the one meeting going ahead today, due to bad weather in the U.K., I am struggling to find anything at Lingfield.  So no bet today.  I have just heard that the meeting cancelled today at Wolverhampton is hopefully going ahead tomorrow.

With racing abandoned at Mussleburgh, only Fontwell and Southwell currently going ahead.   It will be very heavy ground at Fontwell, so although I like one running in the first race, due to the ground,  I’m not going to bet.  So nothing today, I do think On The Warpath at Southwell 1:30, probably only has to go down and come back, but at 4/7 I would rather watch ! He bolted in last time, and looks a typical one of Sir Mark Prescott’s that could run up a sequence of wins.

A quality field of novice chasers, my selection has possibly shown a bit more on his two chase runs , he was workmanlike when winning last time, but looks progressive and is taken to win again. Brain Power won easily at Kempton, and North Hill Harvey has done nothing wrong , they are dangers.  It will be a good race.

Although quite short at 5/4 ( without fav) this horse has done everything right so far, he won well last time and although this is competitive race for a grade 2, I think my selection will give the likely main threat On The Blind Side a race, I just think 5/4 against the rest is a bit of value.  Spring town Lake and Marley Firth are also horses on the upgrade and have chances.

A good winner yesterday at Haydock, Ravensdale was quite heavily backed from advised at 9/4, he returned at 13/8. Hopefully I can keep the winners coming.

In a small but competitive field, Capeland is fitted with a tongue tie today, he is also dropped in trip,  and with the useful claimer Bryony Frost taking a valuable 5lb off his back, I think this horse has a good chance of winning.  His last run was ok, he made a lot of ground quickly, and finished tamely, maybe as a result of that surge and the stiff finish at Sandown. Of rivals Coeur Blimey needs to jump better before I’m convinced of him, Global Thrill has a chance after his recent win, he has Richard Johnson riding, so warrants respect.

Another nice winner yesterday with Point Hope well backed throughout the day, I advised at 7/2, she finished up at 9/4.  Winning by a neck from a promising filly Atlante , who won’t be a maiden for too much longer, judging by her solid effort yesterday.

A decent second in a bumper recently was a good effort by Ravensdale, and this former point to point winner can appreciate the step up in trip today, the heavy ground should be ok and in a race that looks as though he can win, will hopefully have the bit of jumping experience that will be enough to repel his rivals.  Of them Duke Debarry looked  nothing special when only 4th at Kempton, Spiders Bite could be the one that gives my selection the biggest problem.

Nice winner yesterday with Battle Of Ideas winning at Plumpton backed Ew at 5/1 in the morning, he was returned at 4/1 after a bit of market support.

This  filly has had an absence off the track, she last ran in July when a promising third, she is likely to improve for the run today, but I do think she has a good chance of getting off the mark today.  Of her rivals, the favourite Poetic Imagination, ran well last time and looks to be improving, Catoca could be the main one to beat, she ran well on her first run, and her trainers horses are known to progress with racing.
